Stopkilling0Different kind of amp, one's a Tube one's not. That being said Magni 3 prob better bang for buck vs this thing. Just my opinion though look up some reviews of both and decide which one you want.
Stopkilling0That's a great question. I have the Little Dot MK3 (not MK2) for tube rolling which you can't do with the Magni 3. I've never heard an amp using the components the Magni 3 uses, since they no longer use op amps but went with a totally different exotic design. I've used OP amps before, mostly SMSL. This is a huge assumption on my part but I'd say that the Magni will sound cleaner, thus a flatter response curve, no coloring, more headroom and may be better for the studio for monitoring music. The Little Dot MK2 is more fun, with it's own characteristics, tube rolling (A hobby in it's self) and I love the way the tubes glow a nice amber color as they warm up. Tubes, litterally and figuratively warm my heart when I listen to music through them. Totally different amps for different purposes for me. I would never use a tube amp for monitoring music, but I would use the tube amp to record that "tube" sound as a preamp for synths. Good luck and tough choice for your first amp! I think will come down to what you will be using it for.
