A pretty good board for a great price. I got this with the gateron reds and it's been my daily driver at work for awhile now. No issues, love the white LEDs and the different lighting modes.
Works perfectly, and I really like the layout. But the build quality feels just a little off. It doesn't feel as solid as other mechanical keyboards I've used (Anne pro 2, rosewell full sized). The micro usb tucked in a slot under the board is a drawback. While its nice to be able to switch where the cable comes out of the keyboard, finding a replacement or spare that fits the divot for it would be annoying.
Also note: keycaps for this layout can be difficult to find.
This keyboard is for those who want shrink their keyboard footprint but not live with the limitations of a 60 key set up. The keyboard is also a great value and entry into the smaller mechanical keyboard space.
Everything I like about his keyboard lines up with what is important/core in a keyboard. The things that i dislike are all non essential nitpickey qualities, but the price is dropped so it comes back in to a plus on the value side of the equation. i.e. Feel while typing, Deck flex, key arrangement are all great. Use of USB-A is not good, but the keyboard is price cheaper than other mechanicals keyboards in same class.
I got this for myself but uit seemed best for my wife. loved the design, she loves the lighting and the feel ( her first mechanical ) All around good buy. However wasn't a big fan of the fonts on the key caps so I swapped those out.
Good mechanical keyboard, let me explain the good and bad:
The Good: very solid mechanical keyboard, construction is very solid, rubber feet in the back, and cable can be lined up to the sides, very convenient size and shape.
The Bad: the light under the keys do not show on the key themselves, hard to see in total darkness, magicforce could have saved some money by removing the light under, or include a translucent (2 layer) keys for night use.
Another Issue, they keyboard remains with lights on after shutting down my laptop, I have a power USB hub, but does not understand when the PC/laptop is off, seems to be taking power from the USB hub, I had a Dragon Mechanical keyboard that shuts off with my PC, but the new magicforce remains on, annoying during the night.
Nice size, nice keys. I live having the home and end keys close the the enter key when i’m programming. My one criticism: the board is backlit, but the caps aren’t shine-through :)
