Am I the only one that thinks this seems to good to be true? For $40 you are assured of getting at least a $75 set of earphones and you're most likely to get a $90 pair??
MektarusThe MSRP is pretty exaggerated here. These are a nice pair of IEMS, but 40$ is around the most I'd be willing to pay in terms of build quality and sound.
mattk1012I checked when I saw the drop as well and the only one that wasn't spot on with the price on Amazon or very close within was the ms02's which is $100 on Amazon
SlobloAfter reading and watching reviews I'd have to agree. So much so that I cancelled the two I ordered. It seems build quality is a major issue for these and I'm not okay with that even for spending only $40. I mean, I used to only spend $15 at most for a pair of in-ears and they lasted me around 1.5-2 years each and I didn't even treat them well. Reviews said the housing on these usually fell apart in 4-6 months. Even if the sound were heavenly, which from what I've gathered they only sound okay at best, I wouldn't be okay with having to repurchase them every half a year.
MektarusI like the earbuds iv gotten in the past off massdrop form thinksound so much that I ordered a different pair a month or so ago. I honestly believe that think sound as raised prices due to popularity though because when I first found them on mass drop there most expensive pair was like 80 dollars and So I believe they probably increased profit margin by a large price increase because to be honest my ts03's are not tons different from the ts02 I got in the past but yet they sell for 50 bucks more...
In short I love the brand but it is in my personal OPINION (cannot stress this enough) that they are raising prices do to higher demand, more production and possibly to just make more money off deals like this.. I mean heck the mass drop for these used to be 24 bucks than 28 and now 39.99....
Chrono100% agree, I like the brand and the headphones are decent across the board. It's the fact that the price has crept up on these IEMS by 5-10$ each time they are dropped.
I can speak from experience that the improvements between models were necessary, but how does gluing the pieces together so they don't fall apart and changing the casing from chrome to black merit a 35$ price increase?
For those interested, the Shure 215s drop on here periodically for around 85$. If you don't mind the memory wire wraps for your ears they are (in my opinion) a much better value proposition.
BrodyBWell, this was 4 weeks ago during the last time it dropped. Its possible that most of them got bought out and now sellers with higher prices are the only ones offering it.
