Has anyone had any issues with the balance fading from right to left (or vice versa) and then the right channel starts to rattle? If I turn the AMP off and then back on, it resets and then everything works great for another 45 seconds before the fade begins. Cables are good, power is good (Checked with other working O2 AMP), tried different headphones, its definitely the AMP. I don't mind doing a little soldering or what not to replace a messed up component but not sure where to start... it feels like it may be some sort of capacitor or something of the sort due to it works just fine when reset and then slowly fades out. Thoughts, suggestions, ideas?!?!?! Thanks guys, much appreciated!

MilworkzSo, it smells like it is trying to let the smoke out. I have disconnected it from the power and will take it apart tonight to see what is up. My guess currently is that it is grounding out somewhere on something. Will checked for burned components and add images later this evening. If anyone else has had this problem, let me know what the culprit was, it would be much appreciated!

MilworkzOkay, so opened this bad boy up, it was a little metal piece grounding itself out on one of the caps and I guess kept slowing draining it to ground, hence one of the channels was slowly fading. Lots of metallic debris in the chassis, would highly suggest opening it up and cleaning it out and inspecting your PCB for ground outs or metallic shrapnel. Opened my other working O2 amp up and found some other metallic debris in it as well. The screws and the chassis box create little metal shavings, just be aware. It is work now, and going to monitor it for the next few weeks to make sure the problem does not come back.

JackulaLOL, Yessir, scanned every single one of those little solder joints. I took a high res image of it on another camera and blew it up so I could scan it easier. A little trick I learned from BigCliveDotCom. Sure enough though, that one small little solder joint and the debris grounding out one of the Caps, caused those problems. Amazing how robust it is despite those two little issues.

MilworkzWow. i betchya never would have seen this with a mayflower. Glad you got to report., Not all of us have solder station setup.. I certainly would be hugely.., inconvenienced by such a thing.. No warranty with the Massdrop 02's either, eh. Mayflower 02's have a 10 year warranty eh?
