I have an issue where the audio will randomly stop passing through the O2/SDAC with no indication within Windows that the device is having any issues. Windows Event Viewed doesn't show a disconnect, laptop still thinks it's playing audio through the SDAC, but there is no sound. I have to re-seat the USB cable to bring it back. The issue just started when using this with my new Lenovo laptop/Thunderbolt 4 dock. Worked fine on my older HP laptop and Thunderbolt 4 dock. Makes no sense why the audio would disconnect, but Windows would think the device is still connected. Other audio outputs still work if I switch to them, but switching away and back doesn't recover the connection, only physically disconnecting the cable. This is so frustrating...
He is right -- the USB socket is just tacked on to the board is quite fragile. The backplate doesn't provide any support as the socket is recessed and "floating". This device is typically connected to a 60+ lbs. PC via the rather short USB cable. Moving the PC without disconnecting the cable can yank the socket right off of the board or stretch the thin metal enough to make it inoperable.
No other consumer devices (phones, headphones, video game controllers) have USB ports this flimsy.
wilsonjp01That makes sense. Thanks for adding more context than all-caps “it’s horrible and I won’t tell you why!”.
That said, mine feels solid and I’ve yet to encounter any issues.

Okay so...its currently Feb, 15th 2022. Just got myself one of this O2+SDAC Dac/Amp but still just like everyone else...no audio. The only way i actually seem to be able to use it, is by the RCA cables to my older amp (FX-Audio Amp) but the volume is extremely low and i cant adjust it on the 02 amp...what a waste of money lmao.
