Are these better than the Sennheiser 598? I will be using these mainly for gaming.

The 7xx are more "fun", as in they have more bass and are less serious. The 7XX are amazingly comfortable, but are heavier to drive. You may need an amp. JahusaphetI've never used the 598s but the K7xx are amazing for gaming. They are loud and clear and the fairly large soundstage is great for gaming. Sound effects for bullets whizzing past my head or cannonballs flying past were so realistic (and the sound moved like it would in real life) that it made me jump once or twice. Also, they are super comfortable for long gaming sessions.
