Hey everyone, based on the comments I wanted to clarify a few things about these pocket clips…
1) All members who file support tickets due to bending or breakage will be offered the new version as a replacement at no charge. They are not yet available, but we do expect they will arrive sometime in March (WE Knife, and most Chinese factories, are closed for the New Year holiday during much of February.) We've heard that some members got conflicting information from our support team, so if you feel that you should get a replacement under warranty, please do let us know by replying to the same thread, or opening a new ticket and we'll take care of you.
2) Any members who simply prefer the new clip will be offered the discount as previously described, after we have shipped all of the clips needed as replacements.
3) If you would prefer to get a replacement clip sooner, we should have about 125 original style clips available later this month. Clips are generally recognized by knife manufacturers and consumers as “wear and tear” items. While we stand by our warranty for the Falcon and all knives, you should expect some stipulation in future drops regarding a limited time period for no-cost replacements on pocket clips only. There’s a very good reason that almost every major manufacturer offers them for sale separately, and that a whole niche industry of aftermarket clips exists.
For any questions about clip replacements, please submit a support request through your original transaction record, located in your member profile. Thanks everyone for letting us know how you feel about this and helping to drive our rapid product development cycle.

I'm sorry I didn't find this information eariler today as I placed an order for one. I'm not quite sure what to expect now. There been talk about size and the clip. I'll have to see what your return policy is should want to see what the detent is about. Was this one buyer experience or have many buyers had this problem? The price was so attractive and the maker and designer sold me as We has such a good reoutation it eas hard to pass it up. This is my first purchase with Mass drop and difficult to pass up although I have so many knives of this size and materials. I'll be patiently waiting it's arrival . Thanks, Ed.

Great looking knife but I wish it had a chamfer on the inside edge of the lock bar where you put your thumb..

Great knife. Replaces my long lost Small Sebenza. Like it so much I bought a spare. Having trouble opening using the flipper? As Steve Jobs said, “You’re holding it wrong.” Rest your middle finger on the pocket clip instead of the frame, taking pressure off the frame lock. Works for me.

I had to return this knife because I could not open it. With time the problem got worse not better. I find this to be true with all Ferrum Forge/WE knives, the quality control is not good and also the value. In contrast the Bestech knives are a pleasure to open and far better value. I truthfully do not understand the praise put upon these knives, they have been the worst series of knives I have ever bought.

Okay, well I have six ferrum forge knives, and I don't have any issues. Hundreds, - no, thousands of people don't have issues.

I don't care, it does not change the experience I had with the knife I received.

If I bought this knife used, is there any way I can get a replacement lockbar insert? Mine is broken and I would gladly pay for a new one

Don't blame massdrop. Blame complicated laws and import regulations. And if you're really that upset, get a shipping forwarder.

125$ for S35VN? That's pushing it. Especially with M390 being much more common these days, and other steels like 20CV also becoming more common at lower prices...

Dear Massdrop please make Pops deep carry clips an option at checkout for the Falcon/Crux, rather than a separate drop

How much cutting edge does this knife have? The 3" blade minus the choil leaves how much actual cutting edge?

Another great knife with a crappy clip. Is it that hard to make a deep concealment clip as a standard item or even an option? The picture with the knife sticking out of the jeans looks dorkish and the other picture sticking out to the side looks like it's ready to fall out. Do people that design these knives actually carry them?

To answer your question, it would appear so. There does seem to be a BIG "but" to that statement though. When they were designing these milled clips were a big design thing and some manufacturers thought it made the knife look more high value or "well designed". This led to a big push towards companies like this one that have to cut as much cost as possible to design simple ones and slap them on the knives. Now, once they are on the knife and go to production and it is found out that (even if the original maker said it was going to be ahead of time) they are functionally cumbersome and don't look all that great anyways IMO unless REALLY done well, then it is too late and the knife is basically always going to be made with it. In this case the feedback seems to have been so overwhelmingly negative on their clips that there is a mass production of a deep carry option. This has to be a tack on purchase and also doesn't appear to be through the same drops etc. The requirement, likely through cost cutting contracts etc, of their manufacturing and production deals have basically locked them into the current design. Another common complaint on this production knife is the detent. Some of the knives come out and people like the detent, others come out and the detent feels like you need a hammer to hit the damn flipper tab to open it. I've not really seen anyone that has said they NAILED the detent on this knife and with the materials they put in this knife being as they are and knowing they had to cut costs somewhere... I'd say it was cut in the fit, finish, adjusting, and final practical testing/redesign. Those all take a lot of time and fiddling, which means man hours, expertise and cost of prototypes etc. I think they just cut out some of the steps there at the end to really perfect the knife. They have a few knives like this IMO on Massdrop. FF itself when they release a knife say on another seller like the Archbishup 2.0 or the Fortis has a MUCH MUCH higher level of fine detail work down and just plain correct. The detent is overwhelmingly better received. The clips work better even when they look similar. The action is better out of the box etc etc etc. I really feel like what has happened in the last little while is Massdrop is handcuffing these guys, and using them for their name. Don't get me wrong they are very likely getting massive paychecks out of it and consistent ones at that, but man if I was a maker I wouldn't want to get into a deal with the perceived drawbacks that it makes my product worse AND at the same time makes it backed less.

I carry mine and don't have any issues. You might have a preference but you don't need to act like it's the absolute right opinion.
