BE WARY! False advertising.
The product specs say - "73% merino wool and Coolmax polyester infused with silver, 15% nylon, 10% polypropylene, 2% spandex"
But the product label says - 58% 'MERION' wool (whatever that is), 40% nylon, 2% spandex.
Chinese garbage sold with a Made in USA label and a huge markup.
EDIT: added image
I have some other Fitsoks, and I was about to purchase but then I noticed this bit, "Coolmax polyester infused with SILVER."
Silver, typically nano-silver 'infused' products for anti-microbial properties, are harmful to marine and aquatic life -- and release into rivers, lakes and streams as they are washed over their lifetimes. They may also present health risks to humans, but thorough health and safety testing has not been conducted.
Personally, I prefer living rivers and lakes teeming with fish over germ-o-phobia and the worry of smelly socks. Smelly socks hasn't been so much of a problem for me that I would like to kill my surrounding waterways and sacrifice the health and vitality of my surrounding environment - in service of preventing some potential offending odor. That's just my opinion, however...
Fitsok - Please adjust your material sourcing to drop nano/micro-silver products. Massdrop, please make a better effort to avoid sourcing and selling products which are disproportionately harmful to our environment.
I'm not sure why Drop sent an email advertisement for these when there are only size small socks in stock. That's a quick way to make me unsubscribe from their marketing emails. Besides that, the socks look nice... possibly an alternative to the Thorlos I would typically buy for hiking.
Why the hell would anyone put silver, the most thermally conductive metal, into an ostensibly INSULATIVE item of clothing?! There seem to be better options to mitigate bacteria growth.
Aside from that bit of idiocy, how are these any different from the Merino Trail Socks sold at Costco for 6 PAIR (12 socks) for $18?
