Product Description
In 2010, HiFiMAN released the HE-300, HE-500, and HE-6: a series of headphones that redefined price-to-performance expectations in their respective categories and solidified the still-young company’s status as one of the most respected names in the audiophile community. Inspired by the HE-300, which was eventually discontinued despite being a clear favorite for many, we teamed up with HiFiMAN to make the HE-350 Read More

Here's the HE-350 picture from Will. He mentioned that he'll come back and do a video for all of you. It was difficult to upload a good quality video from China because the wifi was slow where he was.

You are right, shipping it by plane is not enough. We should receive a bonus like extra cables and maybe the ear cushions

kosaYou have to understand, ordering these headphones on massdrop is like funding a Kickstarter, when I purchased this, I knew it wasn't even a finished product, but I knew massdrop and hifiman have good reputations and they would deliver eventually. Massdrop owes you nothing, you are still getting a bargain, and it's not like you can buy the product anywhere else.
Thanks everyone for joining this drop! We’ve been in close contact with the manufacturer and the order for Massdrop x HiFiMAN HE-350 is under production.
Unfortunately, there was a delay in the shipment of parts from third party suppliers to HiFiMAN, which resulted in a production delay pushing the ship date back to September 30th.
To minimize the delay, HiFiMAN and Massdrop are splitting a $65,000 expense to upgrade the original sea freight shipping method to air freight. This additional expense reduces delivery time by 3-4 weeks, making it possible to ship by September 30th instead of what would have been October 30th.
We understand that this delay is undesirable. If you’d prefer to cancel your order for a full refund, please contact Community Support using the “Contact Support” button in your transactions page at http://massdrop.com/transactions. Otherwise production is tracking well (we’ve requested progress pictures, expect them in a future update) and your order will be heading your way by the new estimate shipping date of September 30th.
We’ll keep the group updated throughout the fulfillment process. You can expect an update from us by the end of the day Pacific Time on July 29th.
Thank you for your continued support. These products are only possible because of the community and we appreciate your understanding.

Wow, comment necro much? I made that comment almost 2 months ago when KunalKumar first announced the delay. Also, the ship date went from August 3rd to September 29th, which is almost 2 full months. That being said, expressing my displeasure at a 2-month delay is not a "first world problem," you worthless ingrate. It doesn't matter whether you live in a hut in Sudan or in a penthouse in New York City, if you order something and pay upfront expecting a 4-month turnaround, having the company you purchased from inform you the delay is now 6-months is a valid reason to be displeased.

Hey Everyone,
I'm seeing several people EQing and looking for ways to add more bass or "warm up" the sound signature of the HE-350. We anticipated this, most entry level headphones have a lot of warmth and bass emphasis, and this tuning is more in-line with the neutral signatures found in mid-fi and up (per the measurements on the product page).
Knowing this is something that folks may want to adjust to their preferences, I figured I'd post a basic HE-350 mod that adds significant bass response and warmth (+3-5db from ~100hz sloping down to +1-2 db at ~600hz if I remember correctly). We have measurements for this mod, but I don't have them on my home computer so I'll post when possible.
This mod is very simple and fully reversible, it requires nothing beyond your HE-350 and a thin tool. I used a spudger from an iFixit kit we had in the office (see pic #1), but anything thin will work.
First step is opening up the back of the headphone housing to expose the back of the driver. To do this, take your spudger (or whatever thin tool you have) and CAREFULLY pry at the edge of the plastic ring at the 1, 11, 5, or 7 o'clock positions, prying gently at each position in sequence until the plastic ring comes out. The plastic ring has four protruding plastic tabs at those respective positions that slot into the housing, holding the plastic ring in place, which holds the black grille in place.
NOTE: These tabs are fragile: you'll be fine if you break one, but more than one and you'll have to find a creative way to keep the plastic ring in place (which matters because it holds the grille in place). The headphone will function fine without the grilles or plastic rings, but you'll have exposed wires and driver parts, clearly undesirable.
With the plastic ring removed, turn the headphone so the grille faces down. It should fall out, revealing the back of the driver.
NOTE: The back of my driver will look different from yours, dont be alarmed. The driver baffle has a ton of holes in it and different configurations of covering/not covering result in totally different sound signatures. The configuration pictured is my favorite flavor (I'll post measurements when possible) so experiment if you want, but don't be alarmed.
In the center of the back of the driver, you'll see a single sticker. Remove that sticker. That's it. Want to reverse the mod? Put the sticker back. I've removed and replaced the sticker many times without compromising the adhesive.
PRO TIP: Try the headphones before you replace the grill and plastic ring. The less you can remove and replace the plastic ring the better, again, you don't want to break those tabs.
Be gentle when you put the plastic rings back, just as easy to break the tabs on placement as it is on removal.
Give it a try and let the discussion know what you think!

You need to understand that this is not MDs fault... all massdrop does is get people together to get lower prices on things. they have no part in the making and proccessing of the headphones, that would be HiFiman so getting mad at MD for this is insane. PLUS Hifiman was expected to make 2071 of these within 2 months all while having to make all of their other products. HiFiman doesn't make every individual part for these the buy most of the parts and put them together to make the product. so when they put in an order for lets say 4142 50mm drivers to the company they buy them from that company just got hit with a big order that they have about about 2 to 3 weeks to fill depending on the amount of time shipping's going to take then HiFiman has about the same time to make the headphones and package and ship each one individual to each person. not only that but the company that makes the 50mm drivers have to go through the same proccess so a delay is expected and hard to avoid. Does the delay suck? Yes. Is it any ones fault? No. Do you need to attack Massdrop for this? No and if you do you need to grow up.

With all due respect, how is Exclusivity an illusion? If I make 100 copies of one product and select a single seller to sell them, it is going to be exclusive for those who buy those 100 products from that particular seller. It is not an illusion, it is in the dictionary: "restricted or limited to the person, group, or area concerned." This product only sells here on massdrop, everywhere else you see this product you can be certain that it was bought on massdrop. Regards.

August 3rd is absolutely ridiculous ship date. This drop will be almost 6 months to complete for me. The time to take delivery on this purchase makes the "business model" not worth it for me anymore. Once this drop completes i'm most probably done with MassDrop. Time is money and inconvenience is expensive. One word...Amazon

This is pretty much the last thing i get from Massdrop, with all the delays that plague every product i might as well just pay more to actually have the product i want at a reasonable time and i'm pretty used to waiting months for an item.

Reading thru the comments. Wow.. people are so salty.. Are people really In such hurry to get these headphones? Really? Why? I'll just listen to my current ones until these arrives. I've listened to them for a couple of years, a couple of months more is nothing. Nothing ! And people always expect a compensation of some sort. Ugh .. Greedy People. It's 99$, come on lol !

I'm not going to defend the delay, as it indeed long and late, but there's clearly a difference between an "Estimated ship date" and "a delivery date promised". As Massdrop has multiple steps between order and fulfillment in a case like this (manufacture, packing, shipping, etc.) they don't "promise", they make a best guess estimate. Usually they're fairly accurate. Sometimes, like this, they're badly off.

touchofredThat's beside the point. If you give a date when people buy it, it's a contract. You have to hold up your end.

People who elaborate and start throwing jargon incorrectly are usually trying to obfuscate the fact that they actually don't know anything.
I think George Carlin put it best.
