Product Description
To be, rather than to seem: It’s North Carolina’s state motto, and one adopted by local jeans maker Raleigh Denim. It stands for jeans made the old-school way—in small batches of about 300 pairs; slowly, with no automation, using hand-graded patterns and refurbished machinery from the glory days of denim in the Blue Ridge Mountains Read More

Is there any particular reason why folks can't make sizes for folks with larger bodies, or is it just that body shaming is still enjoyable for some? Lots of money on the table because of this particular prejudice.

I see you're still on form. Don't stray from the stereotype, it suits you.

"privilege"? you poor, poor marginalized man. How dare the rest of the 'privileged' work at not being widebodied whiners.

From my review, I gave these jeans 3 stars. After 3 weeks of daily wear, I’m upping it to a 4 star denim. These are great looking, fitting and very well made jeans. Only issue is the front pockets seem a bit small and generally speaking the fit around that area is a bit too snug if you get my meaning. I carry a front pocket wallet and a folding knife in my front pockets. The pockets are not deep enough. Now those two items stick out and there’s no mistaking what they are. A deeper pocket would have been perfect for me. As per all the washing ideas on the net, I’m going to wear these at least 6 months before washing them. Unless there is a huge mistake on my part haha. #stayraw #keepingitraw #selvage # selvedge

Are these a true indigo plant dyed fabric or a synthetic dye, indigo colored? I have many pair of selvage jeans but very few are a true plant dye. Just checking. Thanks.

If there’s no mention of natural indigo, it’s safe to assume that it isn’t.

A little sizing suggestions? Before I was married, I always bought size 32” jeans, but for the past two years I’d had to buy 34” waist x 32” length jeans from Banana Republic. I saw someone suggest measuring the waist of your current jeans to see your size. Well, my wife is in theater and costumes, so I grabbed a tape measure: pants and my bare waist are about 38 real inches in circumference. I’m 6’1” tall. I’m sorry to ask the same question that everyone does (believe me, I read through a bunch of comments), but I didn’t see others post their actual waist inches and buying luxury-priced jeans sight-unseen (and I usually try on a few $40-$60 jeans before actually purchasing) makes me too nervous to jump.

The Glory Days of Denim in the Carolinas always used Japanese fabrics. I read it somewhere.

I’m a little confused; I thought part of the allure of Raleigh Denim was that the denim itself was milled in Raleigh as an entirely in-house operation. Has that changed? It says the denim here is from the Kiahara Mill in Fukuyama Japan.

The White Oak Cone Mills plant (in Greensboro) shut down late 2017 - Raleigh Denim apparently stocked up on the stuff and they should be producing White Oak denim jeans for the immediate future, but the supply they have is all that's left. Most of the jeans available on their website are constructed with White Oak denim. Their cheaper models like this one are now made with imported denim.
