KulpaI have it connected on a Schiit Loki and Magni and gives him a nice Boost.Works very very very well with the Fostex Th xx Mahagoni. Better as before who i dont have the Schiits components. I keep this Setup now so.
I own the Matrix Mini Pro and it's been a great DAC. The only functional change I see here is the addition of Bluetooth so I don't see the need for purchase. Maybe if there were more audio-centered updates. - Derek
SamuelChanYes, the remote can control both the RCA and XLR outputs. This allows you to connect it directly to a pair of powered monitors (or a speaker amp) and use it like a preamp.
The only difference between the Pro 2 and Pro 2S is the DAC chip used. ES9016 vs ES9026. It's a very subtle difference audibly and difficult to tell them apart.
I got the pro 1's , which I think the main difference between them is that 2's have blutooth. In saying that, I really dig my matrix mini pro. I drive my DT990 (now sold), 7xx and 6xx with ease. With a balance presentation. I felt that the dt990 brightness were tammed down ever so slightly compared to my av receiver. My harmony remote also speaks to them as well. A company that I trust in Australia actually recommended these as a product of choice for the price. They are sturdy, heavier than I thought. I am not sure how they drive high high end headphones as I haven't got any, but these will make your midfi phones sing.
