Again, what am I missing? Meze Empyrean's are available at multiple places (from Meze mezeaudio, Moon Audio, Audio46, HeadAmp...) for the exact same price. Oh, and they include the same cable options at no additional cost. And from personal experience, IF (in fairness, please note, that's a big "IF") you ever needed service, refund, or replacement, ask yourself if you've ever dealt with DROP? Perhaps "DROP" is a double entendre, "we dropped the ball yet again in our attempt to drop prices?" Glad you "dropped by?" "We dropped on on you!" Oy... I guess I'm becoming a Drop-out...
DrEasThanks for the feedback. We do sell products where we follow manufacturer's MAP pricing. If prices are equal, it is certainly worth considering which company you want to support. Our highly rated Community Support is here to help with industry leading case resolution times. For those who occasionally shop on Drop, 10% back (in this case $299) in Drop Rewards is a meaningful amount.
Nobody's mentioned it yet, so I'll just give a heads up that the Meze Elite has been released for those still considering the Empyrean. At this price it will probably hurt to own both, so yeah hope yall are aware of that

The link above has comparisons with the Empyrean. Tuning would be down to preferences and EQ considerations, but distortion is much lower on the Elite and its impulse response has slightly better-controlled ringing
What is the point in buying from Drop.com when its almost the same price or a bit expensive than other online shops? This product is not a special Drop edition where the modifications are made to improve the headphone or change the sound characteristics to suit the taste of Drop subscribers. This product is best avoided especially by the non-American customers. When I joibed Massdrop, it had special customised products, now in many instances it has become a shop for the brands who are not able to sell their products easily.
Available for the same price with an amazing return policy from headphones.com (or open box for $500 less)
At this point I only come to Drop to learn where the better spot to buy things is.
There’s probably no reason to buy this from Drop. I always do take the Drop points into consideration, but who offers a worse deal than Drop on this??? There are plenty of boutique headphone manufacturers that have rewards points and other discounts for continued members, but this?? Who offers a worse deal than this I ask you? This is an awful deal…
So many sour people on here. I think some people are slightly confused or do not realize that everyone knows that you get diminishing returns on any audio equipment as you pay more. But, not everyone is looking to maximize value, some people want high end gear that is second to none. Sure your headphones might not be the best value headphones, but the headphones are still better than the best value headphones. *shrug*
