Decades ago, when transatlantic trade brought the world closer together, the Montblanc 4810 Dual Time automatic watch would have been a godsend. Today, it still is Read More
I love all the haters on here. It's a WATCH (it's not neurosurgery). It's going to out live you anyway most likely - who really cares about the movement - I'm sure these manufacturers are out to get the consumer & put crappy movements in their watches on purpose in order to get blowback & constantly be honoring the warranty, not. However, some movements are better than others. If it's a quartz then replace the battery when necessary, that's it - it will keep better time than a Rolex anyway. Unless you are keeping a count down for the next NASA rocket launch then who really cares. If your too educated on watch movements you should really get a life. Get what appeals to your eye & what you can afford, period -- it will be just fine buttercup.
I can see right away--you're going to be a splendid addition to our little community--such and insightful and knowledgable young man, and a veritable Sherlock Holmes to my Moriarty! Yet there were some holes in your logic--for instance, assuming I must smoke because my avatar smokes, is a connection that demonstrates a level of literal gullibility you may have to work on going forward. That would be akin to me assuming you were a green person with a large letter "D" stamped on your forehead.
Let's see if I can do better!
Your struggles with the English language (both speaking and writing it) mark you as a victim of a shoddy American education. Your suggestion that I might have been involved in the teaching profession, indicates a certain disdain for that vocation. Taken together, I might deduce a history of scholastic difficulties related in part to your learning disability, but also, one assumes to a significant bullying problem (one assumes you were both a victim and a perpetrator), some of which may have been due to certain abbreviated, or shortened, shall we say, modes of student transportation?
Your reliance on cliché expressions and typing "IDK" rather than "I don't know" pegs you as a lazy young person (but aren't they all?). Your reference to celebrities of color (Ray Fontaine and Beyonce) are further indications of your age, preference for contact sports and bad music. Where your comments digress into areas of sexual identity and projection, one senses this to be an area of profound confusion, frustration, and underlying hostility for you. All of which are areas best explored on forums other than this one.
Your suggestion that people who enjoy collecting watches do so at great folly and expense, indicates a rather superficial appreciation of the malady. Very few of us here need to go into debt to participate in MD's watch drops. Your mention of "fashion watches" suggests you may have initially come to Watches for the wrong reasons, and have recently realized the error--hence your attempts at participation on this site.
In short, I picture you as an easy person to spot in a crowd: short with a bad haircut, wearing a tacky watch and dressed badly! Fortunately for you, MD can help you in at least one of those categories. All you have to do read, listen and learn--while speaking and writing a good deal less.
RayFI agree with Ray, in summary the OP has his life because he doesn't care about the internals of the timepiece and he just loves fashion watches.
So this is not a place for the OP. I don't see often such watches here.
Now, coming here to suggest us getting a life because we take in consideration more than just the appearance, shows additionally a careless person that doesn't pay attention to details and whom I may not trust several jobs requiring attention and analysis. Also, this depicts a person lacking any empathy, interest or tolerance for other's people way of thinking, so in summary this person can't just accept if anybody doesn't think or act just like him, if anybody fail to fulfill his limited and prejudiced paradigm, the other person is just plain wrong. I hope I'm mistaken and at least he's got a hobby where he actually pays attention, otherwise he better gets a psychiatrist while we all continue with our lives (yes we've got one) even if the OP doesn't approve such life.
Maybe that completes the psychological profile 🤔
And to the OP go back to your life and get away from here. There's nothing here for you, just expensive watches and not as fashionable, exact (as your quartz) that you seem to prefer.
I don't think the OP is going to learn anything here, to many details to handle... Not fitting his profile.
Who is the genius who made the decision on which pic to lead with? Also, the silver dial is miles ahead the black one in looks, in pictures anyway. Drop needs a better photographer...
I 👀 the ⌚ today in the flesh... The white dial. I 💭 the legibility would be poor but no.
This is a nice ⌚ indeed. I'm yet not sure regarding the movement, I'll try to confirm if the dual timing is a module or they heavily modified the base Sellita.
MarPablThe module imo wouldn’t be of concern however being the power reserve hasn’t changed i would be curious to know how much if at all they Tweaked the base it is an in house module
