In a nutshell, my impression is "KXXS with enhanced bass". With the KXXS, the low end of the drums sounds lonely, the bass line is difficult to follow, and the male vocals are not good enough. As for KXXS, I liked the mids and highs, but I was dissatisfied with the lows, so KXXX was perfect. I recommend KXXX to those who have similar feelings about KXXS.
These are the first IEMs I've ever tried. While I still prefer over-the-ear headphones, these IEMs do sound good and come in handy when I want something less heavy, and compact. I use these all the time for work when I don't want to have huge headphones on my head during video conferences. And they still deliver great sound quality, so I don't have to switch them all the time.
The Starfield and Aria basically have almost identical performance to the KXXS/KXXX at lower prices. Unless you prefer black. I keep these in my vehicle-bag as an emergency pair in case I forget to pack a better pair.
These are my first foray into IEM's post ear buds. I really like then. I'm still in the "burn-in" phase..but the sound great from the get-go. They do have some candy-apple bass going on which is a nice change (for me) in the in ear department.
