just to make sure:
- this doesn't come with an XLR cable?
- does the focusrite scarlett solo count as a phantom power? confused with these two. do you guys recommend a cheaper or better audio interface?
I'm guessing no, most pieces of hardware do not come with any xlr or patch cables, unless it's a promotional bundle. The assumption is that the customer will have their own, considering the huge spectrum of cable preferences. Cheap xlr cables are easy to find, and assuming you're not anal about otherwise-inaudible cable-noise, you can find a quality xlr cable on Amazon for less than $10.
I would not recommend a Behringer. Your Focusrite is better than anything Behringer can put out. Focusrite made their name making preamps. If you want to upgrade, I'd take my time and save up. Your interface is an important part of your setup.

TortueYou will need some audio interface or preamp that will provide phantom power to the mic over an XLR cable. That could be a sound board but there are much more inexpensive options.
I'm still learning a lot about what goes into a microphone being good, so here's a question for someone who knows what their talking about. Would this be better, worse, or on par with a blue yeti (usb)? Primarily for vocals and voice over.
KioshiThe MXL V67 is well regarded and many people mod them. I'm not to familiar with this one. Every mic is suited for different people, and you will see studios gravitate to different mics depending on the singer.
