I thought Above and below was a decent game. I fun little worker placement game with some minor stories that help shape the game. Though most of the stories are a bit redundant and there really isn't any deep strategy involved in deciding what to do.
Near and Far was far more complicated which didn't lend itself to the game. I felt that the game was just too random and I couldn't' grasp if there was any sort of strategy to win. It just felt as if I was flailing around the map and randomly getting stuff.
