How long does that light take to get too hot to hold?
Why is the candela so low? A lot of lights with that lumen output produce 50,000 candela which is the most important factor.
Lumens are like the amount of water coming out of a hose. Candela is being able to concentrate that water where you want rather than having it spray all over the place.

Thanks for the reminder to buy thus "before the sale ends tomorrow."
But here is why I will not be ordering this product:
On 2019DEC19 I ordered $200+ ORDER DROP-3651-B for a variety of products for holiday gifts. Ok, some of it was for me.
Most expensive item ordered, Klarus AR10 https://drop.com/buy/klarus-ar10 which continues to state:
"INCLUDED
- USB cable
- Lanyard
- One 18650 battery
- Manufacturer's warranty"
- Drop is intentionally choosing not to help a customer
- Drop is intentionally misleading customers about warranty coverage
- Drop (Brett) made a mistake and did not validate my claim
- I am illiterate and have no concept of the passage of time

SpecialEdI have to assume that you purchased the AR10 from the Drop Warehouse sale. You should have received a proof of purchase after you completed your transaction which you can use to follow up with Klarus on your warranty claim.

kstokleyBrett R. of Drop is the person you need to talk to about that. At 9AM today, Brett said "any warranty provided may not be honored".
To be clear, I'm not upset with Brett, and Brett is NOT the problem here.
Nor is this unique to Drop. It's everywhere, companies will throw million$ at trying to attract new customers, while continuing to treat current customers as policies and terms and conditions.

One thing that MassDrop could offer is the NiteCore U12 Single Cell Charger that Amazon lists with their NiteCore P18 Kit that also includes the battery, the holster, and the plastic case for $30 more!

The Lumintop FW3A would beg to differ. Its Turbo mode goes to 2,800-lumens, and it's only 3.64" long and 3.34oz including battery. Unless they mean specifically 1,800 lumens, no less, but no more....

I guarantee that this is either false or terrible wording. A flashlight this size running an XHP35 at 1800 lumen-output with no thermal regulation would quickly end up way too hot to hold and would be at risk of thermal-runaway.
I don't know what the stepdown time on this light's driver is, but at this size, if max-output mode lasts more than a minute, I'd be very surprised, and wear gloves.

j.a.lWithout any cooling, turbo step down is instant. On high, it stays steady for almost 10 minutes.

I'm interested in better understanding the switch. Is it that button that shows in the photos as I don't see a picture that shows the back end of the lamp? If so, what keeps it from turning on in the pocket?

HatchetmanHere's an image of the back of the light. There's no lockout, but it sits flush with the battery cap and has enough travel that its never activated in my pocket.

For me, particularly for a flashlight meant to be "tactical", details of the user interface are critically important. To summarize the UI from the manual, the tail switch turns it on and off in the last mode used. While on, half press the tail switch to cycle through ultralow - low - medium - high - turbo. "Half press and hold" to access turbo when the light is on. "Full press and hold" from off starts with the memorized mode and then goes to turbo. Direct access to ultralow is available using the tail switch and the side switch simultaneously. A full long press of the tail switch from accesses disco modes.
This is a good price (Amazon is $20 higher in the US), and my experience with Nitecore has been very positive. But I don't care for the UI compared to (for example) a Surefire Stiletto with a momentary tail switch for maximum and a side switch that always starts in low mode (when so configured). Other examples come from the variety of Klarus lights with a main switch and paddle on the tail which allow for momentary or switched-on access to maximum and lowest modes with a single press (when so configured).
On the other hand, the P18 has a lot more output than the Stiletto and carries bezel down, which I strongly prefer.
For me, I'll pass on this one due to the UI.

I don't see a charge CABLE listed. How we charge the battery up without a charging cable?
Does this have a port for charging?
Pretty important detail.
We need info about this.
I love my Nitecore EA45S.
But the battery situation on that is easy, I don't need charging gear.
I do want this flashlight as well.
But I need a simple power solution, or it's not worth the cash.

bmengineerNeed a separate charger, but you can get some that will charge nearly any size of lithium or NiMH cell all the on the same charger. Whether that's worth it or not will depend on how many things you use rechargables for. I use one charger with 4 slots to charge up my AA & AAA NiMH cells, as well as 10440, 14500, 16340, and 18650 LiIons.
