Is the band the only difference between these? I can't really tell if the dial finish is actually shinier on the one with the leather strap or if it's a result of the photo angle.

wileycaioteyYea the one with the silver bracelet version seems to have a white dial and the other version looks silver. Can't really tell based on photos and description.

wileycaioteyI think both of them are silver, judging by the models (click on 'choose a model'): https://www.oris.ch/en/watch/oris-artelier-regulateur/01-749-7667-4051-07-8-21-77

Hand windable? Hacking seconds?
Why MD doesn't specify this for each mechanical automatic watch it lists beats me. They miss it out 80% of the time.

diyaudioYeah thats a shame. More information from MD on these drops helps with the decision making process.
AFAIK the base movement of this watch is a SW 220-1, so this should be a hand winding & hackable movement.
I also hate it when watch manufacturers use 3rd party movements like Sellita or ETA but rebadge them as their own caliber.

agniOris takes the Sellita or ETA as a base movement and then adds then own bits to it. Part of this was due to the fact that when they bought their freedom from Swatch Group, Oris was required to only use those movements. Even though it was years ago, it took a while for them to start making their own movements.

I own this watch (paid more for it elsewhere); it is beautiful and interesting. Regulators take some getting used to, as the minute hand is the prominent central hand (the concept being that you usually know what hour it is and the minutes elapsed is typically more important for keeping you on time). The hour hand indicator is smaller and off to the right - readable, but a bit small if you're seriously far-sighted. So as you look at the face, hour hand is far right, minute hand is central, and second hand is far left - so a right to left sequence different from the typical watch layout. I have 6-3/4 inch wrists and the watch size is perfect. The metal band is very high quality and extremely flexible; I switched to a cordovan brown/burgundy band which to me looks even better. BTW, lug to lug is around 47/8MM.

eltoo38Thanks eltoo38. I am still learning about watches...and had no idea what a Regulator Watch was. First thought was "don't like that". Then started reading about it online. Kinda cool...Oldschool. I'm starting to dig this watch.
