Product Description
Combining the utility of a highlighter with the precision of a fountain pen, the Pelikan M205 DUO is now available in a limited-edition shiny green. It comes on the heels of the award-winning original, the DUO Yellow, and features the same double-broad stainless steel nib and accompanying bottle of matching ink Read More
iamaboreNot for nothing, but the link you posted goes to the pen selling for $155.95 from Pen Place. There is a different seller (Zega Pen) who is selling it for $117 shipped. Nota Bene - the $117 seller is a new seller on Amazon with no feedback and shipping is from Hong Kong.
kattinthehatThey since sold out, there were only ~3 left at the 105 price on Amazon at the time I linked it, but it still shows the lesser price available.
da_vi_ci - why do you say that? Because you like this Pelikan and want it really to be a fountain pen with a F nib? It appears to be designed to be a highlighter which really should be broad to highlight, no? I also really like the looks of this pen, but I think Pelikan makes similar looking pens with nib sizes. Does anyone know whether there is anything different about this so called highlighter pen than other Pelikans, other than the BB nib?
Or you can get it right here at 99.19 normally plus EMS shipping (from Japan usually 2-3 days to your door) https://global.rakuten.com/en/store/penroom/item/24785/
So the only deal I'm seeing here is the free US shipping.
I bought both the green and yellow as a set WITH the ink (yellow and green_ cases etc for a total of $120. I rarely use them but the deal was too good to pass up. Oh, it was free shipping and 30 day returns. The deal is all sold out now.
I've got the yellow version of this pen and I love it. I use it daily for highlighting (or when I am bored during a meeting and want to take notes that others can't easily read). If you're looking for the same performance as a "normal" highlighter with one very wide line, you might be disappointed. But if you want a highlighter that is great for underlining or circling and making notes in the margin, this is unparalleled. The nib lays down a very thin line when you write upside down, great for fine detail work. Overall it's much more versatile than I expected.
I really like the yellow, but I don't think I can justify the green as well. A friend has the green pen and it's terrific - far more subtle in a meeting environment and you can change the ink if you want the traditional yellow highlighting. Can't go wrong either way if the price works for you!
Got mine today. Love the performance, together with a normal M200 it makes the perfect duo.
Sadly the following contents were missing:
-Leatherette pouch
-Owner’s manual
-Manufacturer’s warranty
Wow, what a cool idea. A fountain pen highlighter. Amazingly stylish.
I'm really glad Massdrop is bringing us unique products like this. That said, it's a bit rich for me, being such a specialized type of pen I don't use too often. But I appreciate that it's here on Massdrop.
BTW, I saw that Amazon had the green version of this for $117. Pricing on Amazon is so dynamic, who knows if any of these prices are still valid when you look them up? But it's good to know what they have been available for from Amazon as a reference.
