Built in a similar style to Pilot’s highly coveted G-TEC-C pens, the Pentel Arts Slicci Gel Pen features non-smearing ink and an extra fine tip (0.25 mm) in a lightweight casing. You could order some of both and conduct your own pen off, but the major distinction comes in the Slicci’s sturdier tip Read More
I've had these two types of pens for over 3 years. Personally, I favor the Slicci over the G-Tecs. The Slicci feels a LOT smoother, yet keeps the fine width of .25mm flowing. The G-Tecs are nice as well, they just feel SLIGHTLY less smooth to write with. Additionally, the Slicci feels as though it weighs a lot less, whereas the G-Tec is a bit heavier, which would make the decision for people who like lighter/heavier pens in their hands.
You do have to take care of them though, the Slicci more than the G-Tec. Once i dropped a Slicci from waist height and the whole tip broke off! Hasn't happened to my other Slicci pens that fell, but there's still the chance. Meanwhile, the G-Tec, since the plastic seems harder, was more durable. Over the years though, I find the Slicci pens to be a bit more reliable than G-Tec, though this is probably just from my experience.
They're both great pens, just depends on the preference. I like to write quickly and finely, so I find myself using the smoother and lighter Slicci pen more often than not. When I have to write something with as much time as I have and more neatly, I use the G-tec.
Slicci: More lightweight, ''feels'' smoother, kinda fragile.
G-Tec: A bit heavier, a little more ''scratchy'' feel to it, pretty durable.
Nothing still beats the Uni-Ball Signo 0.18mm though. :P
