Periapt makes high-quality cables for the price. So far I own about 4 of their cables and neither disappoint. These from drop I picked up the black version for my Drop+Fostex TR-X00 Mahagony. The cables are thick and sturdy with a nice fabric. They aren't noisy and don't tangle which is a plus. I find them to be very well constructed. One thing I would like to see in future iterations is if we can choose different types of materials for the wires of the cable instead of only this fabric material. I recommend.
The cable feels like it will last forever but although it is thick and heavy it does feel like a tank! There is other places you can get affordable custom cables like Periapt, it is all preference and where you live.
Very good built and quality cable. Didn't hear any noticeable improvement in sound. But it's not something I would expect from cables in this price range anyway. Just looking for a durable good looking balanced cable that doesn't sound bad.
The overall build quality is nice but for some reason the cables that have combined L and R connectors (like cables for AKG/Beyerdynamics) have significantly worse microphonics.
The only compliment I can really give the cable is that they use high quality connectors. The cable itself is heavy which can be whatever you make of it. The part that really lets down the cable is the choice of sheathing. The plastic is very scratchy and very prone to microphonics. Moving your head around or any sort of movement results in hearing thuds in your headphones. When I was offered money for them, it was a nobrainer to sell them immediately.
