Make 51 ounces of cold brew coffee in no time with this Primula brewer. It’s easy to use: Just pour coffee grounds into the filter, then add as much water as you like and let the mixture sit for at least 18 hours Read More
I’m quite pleased with this cold brewer. It’s easy to use, easy to clean. It seems easier to add grounds to the filter basket/cylinder before placing it in the carafe, as you can get grounds in the carafe if you don’t pour carefully . I grind my beans at about the same coarseness as I would for my French press and the coffee is perfect. Also, I’ve found that I can get away with fewer scoops than the recommended 14 tbsps in the instructions, and I still get a robust and flavorful result the next day. I am enjoying it!
Two great features on this pitcher are the removable bottom on the filter and the non-slip rubber on the base of the pitcher. A lot of other pitchers/mugs that I've had with reusable strainers, they're always a pain to clean down near the bottom. With the removable bottom, cleaning is really easy.
Overall it does what it says it should. I do prefer this to my french press. I do think the top lid and filter setup could be a bit better but for the price I can't complain too much. I learned to use a coarser grind for the mesh and not to fill grounds to top because you need to stir them to get best saturation.
Well designed and well made. Makes cold brew easy. Could easily use for anything want to steep for a while. Like how easily it comes apart for washing and easy to clean. Like the non-slip base. Would do again.
The process to use this thing couldn't be easier, and the result is delicious. The fine filter doesn't allow much silt at all - I really like that. Some cold-brew makers are too tall for the milk shelf on the fridge - this fits well all over the place. 5/5
I love making cold brew during the summer. We were making it on our own in pitchers with out filters and then straining it out after it steeped for 24 hours. This is a lot easier having the drop in strainer. The one problem is that the amount it makes is only enough for 2 days, for 2 people. So really it would be nice to have 2 pitchers, and just rotate them every 24 hours basically!
