Why the price difference between the two diodes? Are there any other notable differences besides the color temperature without me having to attempt a google side by side?

CornwalljCree LEDs are made in the USA therefore they charge more and cost more so that's why the price difference. Most all manufacturers that give you a choice in LEDs charge a little bit more for the cree option

Cornwalljthe Nichia is gorgeous, you're not going to get the same screaming lumen output that a Cree cool white emitter will offer, but everything will look better, it'll strain your eyes less too.
Just gonna say, I got my AAA Reylight a few years ago, it’s been awesome, dependable, and light-snob worthy. I would love to see @ReyLight take on a super small keychain light to compete with the likes of an Olight i1R.

EvshrugHe has a few, a mini version of the pineapple is one example
Rhewitt85The mini is a AAA light, I’m pretty sure that’s what I have according to his website. I’m talking about the SUPER small lights, like peanut sized.

ReyLightThanks! I still have my well used version 2 I believe, and it is my favorite flashlight. I'm tempted by the updated LED, the new clip and the fact that it's programmable.
