Available now exclusively on Massdrop, the Copper AAA Pineapple is the more compact follow-up to the popular Brass AA Pineapple model from acclaimed designer ReyLight. SiggystyleHardware that can be located instantly in the dark is one of the defining advantages of this flashlight. It would be useful to know more about how to implement that advantage.
It's two years old, but the 2015 Nichia catalog listed the 219C emitter as being either 5000K or 3500K. Can't get to the Nichia site right now to check for current data.
glennacAstrolux M03 achieves that by a layer of clear-coat lacquer over the copper body.
The disadvantages are that it feels much more plasticky, and doesn't conduct heat away quite so well (though these small lights aren't powerful enough for that to matter).
I've been enjoying my AA brass Reylight Pineapple enough to pick this up too. I'm glad it hit 100. I was a worried it wouldn't get there.
This photo will show what you can expect for color with the emitter and the difference in output between primary/rechargeable NiMH (top) and rechargeable lithium ion (bottom) cells. This was done with a AA vs 14500 cell but given the numbers in the description on this drop I'm guessing you can expect a similar disparity with the AAA vs 10440.
anonomousAs I understand it the Pretium was the first knife they did as a batch product with the parts not made in-house. I like their more subdued knives like this. Some of the stuff I’ve seen recently is a bit too “artistic” for my tastes.
You're welcome. I used Norland 61 to set the trit in mine. This is an optical grade adhesive that is UV cured. For the curing I used a Nitecore TUBE UV. Hope this helps and good luck setting your trit. This is a great little light!
I like the lights’ appearance and visual appeal. And I LOVE Copper. But I’m not crazy about two-handed twisty lights. I prefer one-handed switch / button lights like the MD/Lumintop collaboration AAA flashlights. So probably won’t join this one even though it’s calling out to me. 🤓
