Blade steel is perfect. Action is stiff but snappy with a very tactile detent. Some small micro-scratches on the blade, and the fuller on the back side has uneven anodizing (but it seems consistently uneven across all models so maybe it’s intentional?). Overall a pretty small yet robust knife.
Hello
I am French and I am very happy having bought this beautifull knife!! So cool and very sharp.
Small but smart for unboxing my packages in my job .
Just received today.
Voilà c'est tout!!!
Merci drop.com!
I read the other reviews regarding some quality control issues, with some even questioning if the last drop was a batch of previously returned knives. I wanted this knife for a while now and figured these issues would have been corrected before doing another drop. Unfortunately, my knife arrived with scratches on the show side of the handle as well as a stripped out screw on the pocket clip. The other screws also showed signs of usage. I'm not sure if its a returned model or more than likely just a case of extreme carelessness during assembly. The lockup, action, and blade are fine, but its frustrating paying this price for a knife and having it arrive with imperfections. This is worsened by the fact this was a known issue from the previous drop and nothing appears to have been corrected.
Knife showed up with a VERY strong odor of mildew, told myself maybe its the fabrication oil they used? Anyway sat down and started playing with the flipper.... flip open.... one hand close.... repeat to get the muscle memory going. So, after 20 - 25 cycles the flipper has become very hard to start moving and when it starts it most likely wont result in a fully opened blade. I've reached out to customer service, will report back.
JonasOI was offered a $25 credit so I kept the knife. After some time it's "free'd" itself and works smoothly as it should. I'll confess that this is a small knife however it's turned into my ED in-pocket carry and I'm loving it!
Gunnersmate2It's actually great, very sturdy and look like part of the knife, I really like it, it's very low profile sow it's very conftable and secure.
Thebigsexy1They gave every dimension imaginable in the description so you shouldn't have been surprised by the size. The scratches on the other hand...
There are numerous scratches on both sides of the blade. The back side pivot has many scratches and marks on it. This knife appears to have been used! The tip of the anodized titanium triangular piece (shown in picture) around the backside pivot is a completely different color from the rest of this piece...it's almost black, it’s supposed to be blue. The torx screws also show damage and wear. Either this knife was previously owned, returned and resold to me or Rike Knives have the worst quality control of any knife I’ve ever owned. I’ve had issues with other Rike knives in the past. This isn’t acceptable for a $40 knife let alone a $200 knife.
DougFLA123Did Massdrop stand behind this knife? This is totally unacceptable at this price point. Will certainly effect my future high end purchase decisions here.
mayflyMassdrop did take care of me. They didn’t have any more of these in stock for an exchange, so they offered to take it back and give me a full refund, or I could keep the knife and they would give me a partial refund of $100. I ended up taking the $100 partial refund and keeping the knife. So, it cost me $102. I liked that it had a one piece integral frame, was made from titanium, was on bearings and used M390 steel. I think I would have been happier/better off just getting the dark gray or the platinum gray because Rikes anodizing was terrible.
