I really love my Rothco MA-1 flight jackets. I bought two of them. They're both extremely comfortable at a wide range of temperatures. They seem to be wearing well. I would have liked deeper side pockets and the addition of an inside breast pocket for cell phone / wallet, but otherwise they're as close to perfect in terms of comfort at any temperature as any jacket i've ever owned.

read the complaints and am happy to say it fits, it's warm, and I smile when I put it on. A little stiff but I am hoping it softens a little. Thanks!

I got it last year after the time change because I thought reversing it and havieng a blaze orange jacket for walking the dog at night would be a good idea. I really like it, and wear it most of the time in the southern New England winter, in spite of having a more expensive North Face fleece jacket (not as warm or waterproof and a bit heavier) and a much more expensive winter coat (warmer but not as convenient). The two things I'd change are that the metal zipper isn't as smooth as nylon ones and reversing it isn't as convenient as I'd hoped because the pockets on the reversed size aren't very good.

I love this jacket. I bought one for myself in coyote and one for my son in sage. It is very versatile. It has functioned well in both autumn and winter temperatures. The first few months it was kind of stiff but recently it has finally broken in. Any suggestions on a pen/pencil combination for the left sleeve are welcome and appreciated. I've noticed some complaining about size, but mine was sized 100% as expected.

Bought mine in coyote. Great color (outside). The bright orange interior's a bit interesting, like an old school deer hunting jacket on steroids. It's fine though, not planning on wearing it inside out ever. Mine fit fine. Sleeve length fine, body fit was a bit large but acceptable and if you're buying it to wear as a fall and winter jacket (hint: don't buy this if you're not), leaves plenty of room for layers underneath (sweater, sweatshirt, etc). I struggled with giving this a "3" vs. a "4" rating, because I think the jacket looks nice, fits fine, and it IS extremely warm in colder weather! However, it's very "crinkly". I mean to the point of being downright noisy. Every little move you make with the jacket on generates a crinkly noise that is quite loud, and after wearing it for about 15-20 minutes, walking out of the house, bending over to get in your car, putting stuff in your car, driving around in your car and turning/adjusting in your seat, you get it, every day average day-in-the-life stuff, this things makes a heckuva racket with each small little movement. Drives my wife nuts. She specifically asks me NOT to wear it when its cold out and we're going someplace, or if we're traveling back east to cold weather and we have to pack a jacket! Haha. I'm thinking and hoping that it will "break in" and soften up in time, with wear and use, and that this aspect of it will become (much) less noticeable and evident. Because I generally like the coat and would wear it more, if it were a bit less stiff and a bit more broken in.... Anyway, it gets a "3" for now, and if/when it breaks in, I reserve the right to upgrade my rating to a "4" or possibly a "5"...

Voiceman1000Have you considered washing it? Does Rothco even recommend that? If so, washing (low heat, gentle cycle, no dryer) might quiet it down considerably. I’d be curious.

Ordered a medium, and while the quality is actually very nice, the fit is fucking bizarre I'm a medium in everything, 6'3, 180lbs. I usually have just accepted that a jacket is going to be a little short, but this is HILARIOUSLY too short. And there's space inside for a pot belly like no other. The sleeves are too short, everything is too short and way too fat. A medium is made for someone about 5'8 and 290lbs. Don't bother. Even if you like puffy jackets. This is junk.

Not as good as the ones we had in USAF. Very harsh materials. Crunchy even!

LindaPenningtonThank an for Sharon day. I Was on the fence- given price- but now I know it doesn’t compare to my Alpha Industries (USAF) one that Ive had for over a decade. Very helpful.

Flap next to zipper gets in the way of zipping up. Zipper on pocket next to arm difficult to zip & unzip. Outside pockets are not deep enough, stuff drops out. It is warm, fits loose.

A touch disappointing. Ordered a 3XL. However that's apparently a tall - not for my shorter, tubbier physique. I'm working on losing some weight. If I manage, it might be a better fit. At the moment however, it's a tad deficient in girth. I've a taller, thinner friend to whom I may gift it.
