I like the way these gloves are posed. It looks like some poor ice climbers last desperate grasp at the sky as they were eternally frozen in place, buried below the oppressive weight of an avalanche. I wonder if the hands are included.
It seems to me that Massdrop does not proof-read it's own copy on these drops, nor is there anyone moderating the comment section. Otherwise, this issue would have been resolved by now.... (5 days and counting) Very disappointing :-(
Received mine, and they're clearly defective. I chose size medium based on the sealskinz size chart, but while these are labeled Medium, they're far too small and do not match the dimensions for size medium. They must have been mis-labeled.
Massdrop repeatedly denied my request to return, even though these are obviously defective. I suggest you take your money elsewhere. Really crap customer service.
That has got to be a wrong weight. I have a pair of similar gloves. 3.15oz for the PAIR, not per glove. Can someone please get a correct weight. This is good price for them, but not if they are knitted with chain mail (about the only thing that would account for the posted weight).
If I am active they are fine below freezing. Static, sometimes you can wish for more insulation. I switched to these after getting caught in a September snow in Yosemite. Walking out to the trailhead that day, my fleece gloves got very wet and cold, and my fingers lost all feeling for about 3 weeks. These have avoided any similar issues in similar situations. Sometimes they are even too hot if I'm snowshoeing or walking uphill. But, just sitting around camp or breaking camp when I'm still cold, at freezing temperatures I find my hands want to go in warm pocket . I hope that helps.
Are images 6 and 8 a different product? All the other images show the goofy discolored fingertips on the thumb and index finger. Those two images do not.
(image 5 might be a different product as well, as it appears to be part of the same photo as image 6)
The description for this pair of gloves is rather misleading. How is it described as hydrophilic, but yet be waterproof??
Anyway. I'd like to ask what are these pair of gloves intended for. I'm looking for a pair of gloves for scrambling on mixed terrain (ice, snow, rock). Maybe also as a backup for my work gloves. Will this fit my needs?
skylark91I had to look up the definition of hydrophilic cause, for a moment, I doubted my understanding of greek root words. Now i'm just laughing at the idea of someone using hydrophilic gloves.
I have these (and loved them), but after a few months of use one of them has blown up completely... the cuff on one of the gloves separated and the waterproof membrane came out. An ugly site indeed. Now, I can't get a hold of anyone at SealSkinz to warranty them. I e-mailed them for the 3rd time again today . =(
Ordered medium (based on their size chart) and the gloves I received are marked medium but definitely too small for me. Anyone have a Large pair they want to trade?
