Product discussions are for the product, questions, and comments about the product itself. If you want to discuss pricing, points, or what you want to see next time, post in the Spotlight thread.
Drop+AudiophileI’m gonna post about it here so that people looking at this product don’t think oh maybe that’s a great deal, when it’s just not, I’m sorry.
It's not like I don't think these are good earbuds, but the price is just MSRP. Why the fuck would anybody buy them then? I went on this site to escape the bullshit msrp.
This is really silly! Tell me why I should buy it here instead of Amazon. I get "2-Days" shipping + 5% back there vs. over-a-month shipping + 1% back here.
I don't want to pay full price on something I want now to earn points for something I may want later. The old "group buy" format was what brought me here. If I want to earn points I'll just buy these on Amazon with my Amazon card.
ArcforceAnd you’ll get 5% back with your Amazon card. Even though Drop gives you back more in points, you’re restricted into what Drop offers. Amazon has a world more of options.
So I clicked the buy button, hoping some "add to cart" discount was just not called out... nope these are MSRP. The 15X points is supposed to be the draw here? Because that isn't enough to make me pull the trigger.
Edit: The rewards points are the default $1=1, I don't see any incentive to order here
I think most of the people know about this already. I believe most of the Drop shoppers/supporters aren’t happy about these Sennhieser products being sold at the same price as on their official website. This is not what made Massdrop/Drop so popular. This is not what it’s known for. Most of us don’t really care about the point/credit thing. We are looking a for good deals upfront.
Der_KlaviermannI hear you, though, do you think Drop would be better off not selling things they can only provide points on and have to sell at MSRP? I would think that Drop shoppers/supporters can find value in points. It's definitely a shift in how Drop has done things historically but having a drop with extra points (MSRP with standard point rewards is NOT okay in my book) versus no drop at all I'd rather there be a Drop to allow people the option to buy if they want. I'd be interested to know sales numbers on these MSRP Drops. I'm sure even with all the comments if people are buying, why would they stop offering these types of drops?
LaHardDuckI think you'll only find these for MSRP because of Sennheiser. See: http://www.harriscomm.com/catalog/dealers/Sennheiser_MAP_Policy_2012.pdf It's really about which retailer has the rewards you value more when it comes to buying Sennheiser or figuring out ways to "stack rewards". Such as, I could buy from Drop and get $45 in Drop credit and also get cash back/points on a CC.
