DHL says they dropped it off at the USPS but the USPS still says DHL has it. I guess I have to wait until this he said/she said resolves itself or...?

PopZeusMine took 5 days after it was dropped at USPS. During those days there were no updates until I got it, so hopefully this will be the case for you!
