Discovery and technology are not the same... Design and technology are not the same. I don't understand why there is a hang up on trying to convince people that swapping out materials is somehow a significant advancement of the technology... It may result in an improvement in performance. I'm not denying that possibility... I'm saying it's altogether a different and, in my opinion, misleading thing to tell people that the technology is newer.
Yes, I understand that about planar and electrostatics, its basically what I said
The way I think about it is that advances in materials and advances in technology are basically the same thing because in order to have advances in materials there must be advances in technology to allow you to use or create those materials. However, I understand where you are coming from now.
Definitely a MUST purchase for those looking for a very high quality but still budget priced iem. Very comfortable, wore mine for 12 hours listening to music and watching movies the first day I received them. They fit perfectly and are fairly flush to my ear, unlike my iBasso ito1's and FLC8s. Performance is better than iBasso ito1's, Massdrop Planamic and comparable to the FLC8s for a less money. The only issue I have is that the chin slider it too loose. I couldn't recommend more highly.
iem's I currently own... Campfire Audio Comet, iBasso it01's, Massdrop Planamic, FLC8s and Flare Audio - Flares Pro.
The Shozy Form 1.1 are nothing short of great. They have a slightly U-shaped tuning with good technical ability, so they're probably the closest thing to a real competitor for the Tin HiFi T3 for most people.
Here's my full review: https://www.soundphilereview.com/reviews/shozy-form-1-1-review-4971/
Slater91U shape is in my wheel house, but how is the stage and imaging? Does the sleeve for the area that wraps around the ear feel stiff? I've had mixed results with those...
SqueeWell, it's all in the review actually! :) Except for the ear hooks: they're not stiff at all. Quite the contrary, in fact, they're soft enough. Soundstage is decently large with a bit of depth and imaging is very good.
How do these compare to the Moondrop Starfields and Tin T4? I like a balanced sound with slight bass boost (e.g. ER2XRs), but I am also looking for a lot of detail and brightness in the mid/high areas. I listen to a lot of synth-based electronic music (e.g. Deadmau5, No Mana, Prydz, etc.) so I want the mids/highs to sparkle with detail and depth.
Darth_FadedThese are lush thick sounding but still clear. Unique sound, very woody earthy sounding but good detail and and resolution. Good bass. Needs spiral dots for stage, otherwise a bit boring.
Pretty disappointed that there's another drop of these now even though I haven't received mine from the January drop yet & they are 5 bucks cheaper than before
YourBaba98No, they’re not sibilant if that’s what you’re getting at. They’re clear enough and highs are emphasized (the bass even more so), but not sharp. Excellent, controlled implementation across frequencies. Ridiculous value for $60.
Neptune99Depends what you’re going for. The T2s are clarity focused and somewhat neutral sounding. The 1.1s are FUN, with clear highs and impactful, beryllium powered lows. I’d give the Forms the edge on technical capability. Material and build quality T2 without question.
