I'm having some issues and I need to make sure it's not me. Just got this amp and volume is very low, sounds distorted, muddled, like its echoing under water. If I pull either the right or left RCA the sound improves, but together it's terrible. I've tried it on my phono stage, I've tried on my DAC, I even went and bought a 3.5mm to RCA adapter and tried it out of my laptop, all the same. Am I missing something or do I have a lemon?
CodudeWhat cans are you using? It barely pushes my my m50x. Tried 6xx, 4xx, my beyer trio, volume is tapped out. But, as far as sound issues.....none. I do have a jan 5670 on the way, we'll see. May try it thru my el dac, see if that helps.
CodudeWas wondering the same thing. In a review listed here they say yes, great improvement. But it is mentioned that you need a 6922 adapter. However in the description listed here and elsewhere a 6N3 is used which I've heard means no adapter is needed. Does anyone have any experience with this?
CodudeChanged out for the 5670. Sounds great, boosted the volume just a bit. I have used the 4xx,6xx,dt 770,880,990.....but.....surprisingly....I enjoy my m50x and m40x the most on the tube amp.
Morri2It drives hd600/6xx to loud so 32ohm shouldn't be problem. Tube amp is all about distortion and changes from tube to tube, so seldom has technical side analysis for tube amps.
anyone else having issues with the power brick? plugged it in and it started smoking (literally)...
and yes, it is - supposedly - rated for up to 240V...
Not sure if anyone has said it yet but this does not have RCA out. It has 2 parallel RCA inputs. While it can be used to daisy chain it does not provide any sort of pre-amplification to those RCA's it's only output is the headphone jack. Drop should update the description. With that being said it is a very vibrant sounding amp. It's great and I love it!
AaaaaaIs there something wrong about the O2 that I'm not aware of? I have it, and it's lovely, it quickly replaced my much less flexible (although more colored and "enjoyable" with the correct setup) Little Dot I+ as my office desktop amp. In fact, I like it so much I'd even buy a O2+ODAC to get the a decent standalone DAC/amp.
