My review after using it a couple dozen times... (I've been using a Snow Peak 600 cup almost exclusively for about 8 years, prior to getting this 800, so a lot of my comments are implicitly comparing the two.)
Packing is easy, the 800 is big enough to hold my 4 oz fuel can, stove, lighter and some coffee+tea packages with a little space to spare.
The silicone "cup" is pretty useless. It gets floppy when you warm it up, so drinking out of it is a real pain. As a cozy, it works well to keep the pot warm, but it expands when heated, then falls off /every/ time you pick the pot up. They need to either change the material to one with a lower thermal coefficient, or make it smaller/tighter.
The lid is likewise too fiddly. The little wings bend easily parallel to the handle axis, so you must be very careful putting it on the pot or you end up dropping it into the contents.
The rim on the pot is a folded flange, sized to hold the lid in place. Coming from the 600 with the nice rolled lip, drinking out of it is moderately uncomfortable. (Yeah, this is pretty trivial, but I noticed it, so I thought I'd mention it.)
The squarish bends on the handle are a big win. They are angled so that holding the cup upright is easy and very comfortable (compared to the D handles on the 600, which are impossible to control, as the handle just slides through gloved hands and you end up spilling things frequently).
Another win is the position of the handle, which is quite high, keeping it out of the flames, so I have yet to use a hot pad to pick it up off the stove. My 600 has discoloration on the handle from getting too hot, but the 800 has stayed unscathed as yet.
I originally got this because the 600 seemed a bit small, but now that I've used the 800 for a while, I find that 600 seems like a better size.

ericfahlgrenDitto on the yellow cup: Seems best as a cozy but it really does like to fall off.

I Have used this pot and lid for the past several years. I've never had a problem with the lid slipping inside during use. The lid works great as a pot grabber. I just measured where 500ml is in relation to the handle peices - then go by that to get 500ml for Mountain Houses. I've never used the cup...always left it at home. 2 thumbs up on this drop from me!

bcmnthntrWhat heat source have you mostly used? I am concerned it is a bit on the narrow side so any input would be appreciated!

westcoastI use it with an MSR pocket rocket Works great. Pocket rocket has a small burner in the center, so it works well with the narrow pot (snow peak stove would be similar).

is possible to fit into the pot the stove and small fuel canister (and close the lid)?

markzeleYes, a small fuel canister and stove will fit into this pot. Here's a picture of the Kovea Hydra stove (which is significantly bigger than most top-mount canister stoves) and a SnowPeak fuel canister underneath (barely visible). This is an important feature and we'll try to highlight it better. @markzele @Antnee

This seems like a crazy good deal. Tempted...my current MSR cookset is a two person setup and a waste of space when I'm solo camping. Is there any real world truth to the notion a wider and shorter pot will boil faster?

trailbrewMy subjective views on the boiling time question: it depends on the stove:pot combination. I've seen many stoves used with the flames jetting out past the edges of the pot. That's wasted energy. Also, greater exposed surface area equates to faster heat transfer. If that surface area is exposed to a heat source - good, faster boil. If that surface area is exposed to a heat sink - energy loss.
As an aside, I was thinking about getting in on this because I like the idea of the silicone cup and lid. After watching a couple of videos online about the set though, I'm a bit concerned about the fit of the lid. It looks to me like it is a little finicky and has a lot of potential to slip inside during use. Anyone have experience with it? A few more grams of silicone to extend all the way over the top instead of just inside the rim...

trailbrewI spent an entire winter in the shed in the back yard a few years ago creating and testing alcohol stoves with everything I could find. During the testing, I would run average boil times with the water temperature regulated (kept it in the fridge at 36F) as well as the fuel. When using wider, shorter pots, I got average boil times that were anywhere from 10% to 25% faster than I did with taller, slimmer pots. OK, not exactly scientific, but when I'm carrying my alcohol stove, I only carry my short, wide tea (or was it "Ti") pot to save on fuel weight. If I'm carrying my tiny burner canister fueled stove, it doesn't seem to make that much difference, if any, as the size of the burner head is so small. Then again, there may be some other reason for it, so maybe it's all just in my mind.

labbitsThanks for asking about the Litemax. That is a very popular stove and we'll offer it on it's own in a drop, probably in March.

The pot looks rounded on the bottom, seems like a great deal but im not sure it would sit well on tiny alcohol stove like zelphs fancee feest. Any one have any experience with that?

natethinksyeah, you're probably going to want a wider pot for alcohol stoves... otherwise you'll lose a ton of heat around the sides :( this pot does look great though, and I love the lid!

natethinksYeah! Immediately after I got mine in the mail I tried it with my fancee feest stove in my kitchen... Fire safety... Anyway, the stove is home made, but dimensions are the same as Zelphs
The flames do wrap up and around the bottom edges of the pot a little.. so its not 100% efficient. However, water was boiling without any issues. I'm happy with the set up

My Titanium Summit Solo Cookset arrived over the weekend and it is in horrible condition, it looks like it was run over with a fork lift and it is unusable. I have tried contacted Massdrop for information on returning the package so that I can get either a refund or a replacement but they have not responded to any of my efforts to contact them.
At this point, It seems filing a complaint against Massdrop with the better business bureau is my only option. Does any one know of any other options I could try to get a refund?

Thanks, my VZ account is an older one that I haven't used in years so I didn't think to check it, but I guess its the account associated to my facebook account and that's how I signed up here. I checked the account and located the email.
Thanks again

Calling @raptelan - any experience with this cookset? Thoughts on it? I have been considering the ~700ml cups, but those always seem to cost more than this drop. This would be for solo use. The price is great, but wondering about going a bit larger than I need. EDITED: Realized this model has no measurement markings - deal breaker! Too bad as the price is great.

M_at_oI've had this cook set for a few years now. I hate that it doesn't have measurement markings, but the silicon cup is 8oz, so that helps. I usually just eyeball it anyways.

how about scratching the pot for measurements mark - or use one of those vibrating etching tools. https://www.amazon.com/Electric-Vibrating-Etching-Jewelry-Engraver/dp/B00EMX6XZ2

Will the pot fit snugly on a 1lt Nalgene bottle? I'm interested in using it in a nesting system with Nalgene bottles.
