Hi Tommy, Appreciate your understanding. From a waterproof perspective, I'd be hesitant to treat it as such. While the fabric may seem very water repellent, not sure if the seams are sealed robustly enough to be truly waterproof. But, based on my memory of handling the sample, it seemed like it would hold up in heavy rain quite well. Hope this helps!
