Literally years in the making, Spyderco’s K2 is the brainchild of knifemaker Farid Mehr. As Farid tells it, he drew the design for the bowie-style blade, then forgot about it, only to remember the drawing a couple of years later. After digging it out and dusting it off, he set to work on creating an equally striking handle. At nearly 10 inches overall, the finished product is nothing short of the heavy-duty, hard-use knives that have come to define Farid’s work.
Note: Due to additional scrutiny and increased seizures at Customs this drop will be limited to members within the US. This drop is limited to 50 knives.
Constructed from CPM 10V steel—known for its toughness and edge retention, thanks to its high vanadium content—the 4.53-inch blade features a full-flat grind and PlainEdge. The radiused spine offers a comfortable spot for the thumb, while Spyderco’s Trademark Round Hole works in conjunction with Farid’s blade design to offer easy opening for both right- and left-handed users.
Machined from solid titanium, the 5.45-inch handle is made for burly hands. It comprises two thick scales and a Reeve Integral Lock, which features Farid’s iconic wavy lockbar design. Positioned near the pivot pin, the stainless steel pocket clip is set up for right-side, tip-down carry.
