Haha, seriously!
I planned on getting these last year at this time and they were out of stock.
Went again yesterday and once again...
Guess I should have actually monitored these instead of waiting.
I've had my earpads for about a month and one of them is deformed and the foam doesn't line up with the seam on the leather. I'm not sure if this is normal but I don't like the ear pad deforming and I worry that it will breakdown faster.
The bottom picture shows the other ear pad that looks fine but the other side is pushing forward. Any ideas?
Are these Velour pads actual Sennheiser pads rebranded? If not do they change the acoustics? Are there any aftermarket Velour that don't affect the sound?
No sure where drop got these pads from, but they do change the sound, even the velour pads which is the closest to the original pads. They makes the sounds muddier compare to the original. I will suggest that it's better to stick to the original pads.
does anybody know if there's a way to get rid of the smell of the pads? It's not terrible for most people I'd imagine, like you don't really smell it from a few feet away.. but in my case I'm pretty sensitive to smells, and I find I can smell the pad smell on my hair after I've worn my headphones for a while (1hr+). This isn't just a problem with these pads, I've had the same problem with my lambskin and protein leather pads from ZMF. I thought maybe with time the smell would go away, but neither with these or my ZMF pads has it faded. If anyone has a solution to help get rid of the smell I'd be super appreciative! Thanks!
I've purchased 2 sets of headphones from Drop and 2 DACs. I want to love Drop, but all in all, your response time is bad. It's like, "do I save $$ but get bad and unresponsive service" or "pay higher prices elsewhere and get good service"? Add to that, I purchased the much-ballyhooed HD6XX and have yet to succeed in purchasing the warranty. Yes, you replied to my emails but when it came to the point to purchase, crickets from you. Hopeful this was unusual, I recently purchased the Drop Hifiman HE4XX which arrived scratched and with a crimped cable and have had several AND the warranty and am still waiting for your responses. SO, if I ever need the warranty, how will that work out? I do not like to whine / complain but you guys need to get your act together. (And please, don't blame things on COVID-19). Oy.
