The complimentary case, which can be declined at checkout for $10 savings (per Note on the Description), is the only way that we're able to make Spyderco available on Massdrop. I have plenty of conversations about MAP with hundreds of vendors - most of the brands you see here have pricing policies of some kind, but choose to work with us because our community is for members only and prices are displayed only here and if you are logged in. Not everyone is willing to make a complete exception for us, and AFAIK we are the only place you will even find this type of offer for Spyderco. So the choices are do this and offer Spyderco, or never offer Spyderco unless they are closeouts or sprint runs that take six months. I can explain why MAP shouldn't apply to us until I'm blue in the face, but ultimately I can't make anybody ship us product if they don't share the view.

JonasHeinemanExactly, just don't offer it. There is no point whatsoever. You can get this for 119 - 100$ on ebay currently and have it at your door in a week.

I understand that most times while the USA folks aren't realizing much of a price benefit, the International folks are getting a nice savings. That's great. I hope that we'll begin seeing a price break (and more than 10 dollars) for the USA folks as well on future drops.

So then why put it on massdrop where the whole point is to group buy items at a discount, when it is clearly understood no one will get a discount?

There are zero reasons for Massdrop to be selling Spyderco knives. There are no deals to be had because of Spyderco's MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) policy. I love my Spyderco knives - but the MAP sucks and it makes for dumb drops for $0-10 less than other online retailers with a 1-2month wait time.
Would rather see any other knives with a deeper discount for that kind of wait. Otherwise I would just order from a Blade oriented website and have it in 2 days.
A Massdrop exclusive with a color and a blade steel combo or something for a little more money would be worth the wait! That would be a much better option than selling what everyone else has for the same price.

That is "worth" maybe $30-40 so we can decline it and actually save money to make up for the shipping time. Sounds good.
Either way, we can't blame Massdrop for MAP, it isn't their doing. Focus on the good prices we get on other knives and pick up a Spyderco or two on a slight discount. Or just wait for another Spyderco blue box!

Ridiculous! This is the regular price for the knife. Plus they charge shipping which actually makes it more expensive. Completely ridiculous! It's insulting! Don't do this again Massdrop.

Could we get an MD Exclusive or sprint run color combo? I think a black DLC coated blade with black hardware and white G-10 scales would look amazing. Also ,since Spyderco does sprint runs in different steels, S35VN would be nice.

Had put the Para 3 on suggestion but had expected something better than the same price as Knife Center. As Pat Puma mentioned the deletion of the bag offset by the sales tax is a MD savings of $7.80 . Underwhelmed.

G_BeetleYa I get it. Im of the opinion that massdrop should stop selling and promoting spyderco. MAP Pricing effectively kills the whole idea of massdrop imho. Great knives, totally worth the money, lame that massdrop seems to love them even though no discount. Cheers, have great week!
