The Superlux ORTF S502 produces evenly-spread stereo imaging with great localization, depth, and sound texture, making it ideal for a wide range of stereo recording applications. It combines a pair of matched cardioid capsules in an ORTF arrangement to perceive directional information on the horizontal plane. Two first order cardioid microphones are spaced 17 centimeters between the microphone diaphragms, emulating the distance between the ears. The 110-degree angle between them mimics the shadow effect of the human head.
