From what I saw online, reviews mostly state: 'these are meh, get the T2 or Blons'.
As an owner of the regular T2, they're pretty awesome and very slightly cheaper (around 40 bucks). I'd say if the reviews are correct, skip these and get the T2 and some Dekoni Bulletz foams tips, they're awesome!
FireChargeI don’t know what reviews you are referring to, but I couldn’t disagree more. The T2+ tuning is different from the original T2, and I don’t think the T2+ makes the T2 obsolete at all. There are reasons to own both. That being said, I think the tuning of the T2+ will appeal to most people a lot more than the T2 tuning. The technical capabilities of the T2+ are clearly better, and the build is also MUCH better (not that there is anything wrong with the T2 build IMO). Other than a tuning preference, I can’t find any other reason to get the T2 over the T2+, even with the slight price difference. The BL03 and T2+ are just different.
I bought a set of these to try out and while I admit these do get many things right, I don't think I'd be using these in the long run...
Wrote some of my thoughts and impressions here: https://www.perrivanaudio.com/post/tin-t2-plus-review
The T2+ tuning is really quite different sounding compared to the BL03, and it’s a matter of preference, mood, music genre, etc. If you want a lot of bass, the BL03 is the way to go. The timbral accuracy is also a bit more natural on BL03 as well. The T2+ treble has a bit of a splashy quality, but it is well extended. I think the BL03 and T2+ are actually quite complementary, rather than competitive. The T2+, however, is a lot more technically competent IMO. Detail retrieval, clarity, resolution, transient response, bass definition are all notably better to me on the T2+. Build quality is also a lot better on the T2+, and it will fit most people better than the BL03 I think. For $50 or less, I consider the T2+ a bit of a no-brainer.
joeftanI also think the T2+ is a no brainer and they are indeed complimentary vs competitive. Though, from a perspective of the type of metal we are talking about, I will argue the T2+ sounds much more natural than the 03. 70’s metal, yes. Pick up the 03. The wall of sound that is the disgusting gutterals and tunnel throats of Shrine of Malice... the 03 falls apart in such a spectacular way that you’d say it’s actually worth it’s price.
While I personally like the T4 sound slightly more, for the price, build quality, and sound, the T2+ is by far the best T-series Tin HiFi IEM thus far. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Thank you responding, that confirms what I experienced from the review: low mids and treble were overly boosted making the remaining spectrum sounds very recessed, to the point it completely alters the original presentation, it may be fun for a little while playing a specific passage, not so much desirable if that becomes permanent
I wish more reviewer are able to provide audio simulations showing their interpretation of a device as best they can with appropriate sound tracks (tonal balance can easily be heard with reasonable user playback equipment and environment). It will never be the same as a "test drive" (if it could ever happen) but good enough to experience device differences with your very own hearing
I agree with NEXONUS. The T2+ has a slightly less prominent and harsh upper midrange, and the bass quantity is very similar to the T4. Clarity and detail is very similar between the 2. I have both the T2+ and the T4, but IMO, they are redundant. If I had neither, I would just get the T2+. The T2+ fit is a lot better for most people it seems, but somehow, the fit is a bit odd for me. I prefer the fit and feel of the T4 for me, but the build quality, especially the MMCX connectors are MUCH better on the T2+. The main thing I prefer on the T4 over the T2+ is that the mid bass is a little less on the T4, making the midrange sound slightly cleaner and better defined. The T4 is less warm as a result though. I think there is very slightly more sub bass on the T4, but it is miniscule.
I can assure you, the bass on both the T4 and T2+, while not heavily emphasized, is very good, and much more than on the original T2 (I don’t have the T2 Pro or T3).
scottluIt depends on what you mean by “bright”. The treble doesn’t seem as peaky and “bright” on the T2+, compared to the original T2, but the upper midrange is more prominent on the T2+. I do think the upper mids are well tuned on the T2+, and are not quite harsh or “shouty”, which the T4 can be at times. The driver in the T2+ is much more technically capable than the driver in the T2.
I have these and can attest to their awesomeness, especially at $45. Quite nice detail retrieval on them along with a sound signature that's bright but never sibilant. Rec'd!
