Where can I get more info on the "5V" option for the Topping A90D headphone amp. I wonder if it would damage anything not needing more than the 4.2v of most other components, or if it alters the output; more volume for more voltage?

Just hooked up the A90d, and on high gain the volume is low. I have it at 90 volume and it's listenable, when it should be screaming. Am I missing some option?

trog69I needed to read the supplied info sheet. The solution was to make sure the "Volume Limiter" is either disabled, (set to "1") or set to one of less-intrusive limitings. This feature is to help keep the volume from blowing up everything, since there's nearly ten watts/channel available, in progressively more limited output through "5" which is something like 50% power at full-tilt on the dial. EDIT: Also, the balanced has much more output than single-ended.

I also advise people not to order this product. The original shipping date was early March, it then slipped to Mid April and then April 30th. Sent an email 5 days ago for an update and have heard nothing from customer services.

DjmeisterSorry, but I'm very happy that I didn't take your advise, as the A90D is one of the best-sounding amps I've ever heard, and it's made all my 'phones sound like they've been upgraded as well. This amp is going to anchor my speaker system as a very capable preamp. The price here makes it a no-brainer.

Do not order this product from Drop! I ordered the product on Dec 8th, with an expected ship date of March 7th. They don't communicate at all on the expected dates. When I asked when the order would be available they mentioned it would now be April 17th, with no explanation or follow up. In a world with 5% on savings accounts, this sorts of delays without explanations are just the worst
