Have a fairly specific need for testing Bluetooth headphone quality/functionality. Apt-X isn’t listed in the features on this item so assuming it isn’t supported. Can anyone recommend a high quality DAC with all the latest high-end Bluetooth standards (Apt-X, Apt-X HD, HD Audio wireless, etc..)? I’m looking at the Fiio BTR5, but it’s sold out everywhere so any other suggestions are greatly appreciated.
OpinionsAndSuchThis unit supports AptX, so worry not there. It also supports LDAC and AptX LL so those are the biggies IMO. Full list is as follows: AAC/SBC/APTX/APTX LL/APTX HD/LDAC.
OpinionsAndSuchI concur with @jaydunndiddit The codec list is complete: AAC/SBC/APTX/APTX LL/APTX HD/LDAC and can also tell you this is ancredibly clean wide, dynamic sounding DAC. Tis my second one. And I've also got a shanling UP2 and BTR3 - for desktop use, I'll take this over the others. This thing punches way above it's price tag.
holsenGreat feedback - however after after digging deeper, it looks like this item doesn’t broadcast via Bluetooth, only receives. Unfortunately I’m looking for an option that broadcasts in order to listen via Bluetooth headphones.
OpinionsAndSuchThis is a DAC. It turns digital into analog. Digital analog converter. It receives digital signals via bluetooth then converts then into analog. So no, you shouldn't buy this if you want to listen on bluetooth headphones. They already have a DAC built in.
OpinionsAndSuchThere are many BT apt x HD transmitters, here’s a link to a random one.
