I was just looking for that. I picked up a balanced DAC when I got my PS5 last year and I thought it had support for UAC-1, but apparently not. I had no idea how cheap those Atom DACs were, so I might have to try one.
XeVaDIt might, if you use a UAC1 standard USB cable (JDS sells them) which may force the amp to run in UAC1 standard. That's what I did with my Topping DX3 Pro.
Drop is NOT for the masses anymore. I bought this same dac at Apos.com for $135 and they gave me a 2 year warranty...for free. You gotta cough up an extra $30 to Drop if you want an extended warranty.
I'm really starting to doubt them after all the bs pricing they've been putting up for their stuff.
There used to be times when Drop would cut down prices based on the number of buyers, but now they won't blink even if their products are selling
You can make a case for the price but you think drop will give you a 2 year warranty? and if I'm gonna have to wait close to a month to get it I'd just buy it elsewhere
But hey it's your money
Do not understand why should someone wait until "Estimated ship date is Feb 19, 2021 PT." if right now you can buy it from aliexpress for the same price with free worldwide shipping.
BTW: price of this DAC was 129$ until December 31 and sellers can sell you by old price if you ask in comment to your order.
Topping has too high a fault rate for me and next to no support. Consider JDS labs for american made and great support. Their amp and dec are $99 each.
Actually… I have a question about that DAC. I intended to use it as a pure DAC, plugged to my THX AAA 789. But… uh… how should I put it… I might have "accidentally" bought a Fiio M11. I was told that the Fiio M11 can also act as an external DAC, lots of good things, very ‘too good to be true’ stuff. So, just, just hypothetically, that Topping E30 DAC, how does it compare to the Fiio M11 used-as-a-DAC?
