Can I buy this and link it to D30+A30 combo? I look at it from the point of convenience, Topping A30 has so absurdly gigantic power source with all the wrong lenghts of its cables so have it hidden in another segment rather than laying on top fan of my PC would be blessing.
And btw. as I use HD 6XX with Topping A30 amp, I want to ask what player do you use to play FLAC files? Is winamp ok? :) (i tried AIMP, its nice and skinnable and user cannot turn off general autoplay without breaking autoplay in playlists where I want it)..

Above all, I think a high quality psu always provides positive reward. The problem here can be 1) noisy usb power (yes but usb power isn't used for many non-usb-powered devices; 2) ground loop (this is BIG and universal if you connects multiple devices together). It is actually better if you just isolate your usb ports regardless of the psu you use. Products like ifi ipurifiers works really really well.

begineringI've been thinking of getting this to improve my DX3 Pro audio chain, but after reading the Audio Science Review take on it, I'm not convinced that spending $100 on this is worth it. I'd rather invest $40 in Mogami 4 core / Neutrik RCA interconnects between my DX3 and Sony integrated stereo amp which has been on my wish list for a while.
It could make sense if there are electrical issues in certain areas, but I can't hear or detect anything where I am. Also, realistically speaking, I can see where ppl spend $100,000 - $1,000,000 on a hifi system wanting to have power conditioners (which also serve as surge and lighting protectors) to push the envelope, but with the average Joe's audio system I don't think there's much of a case for a dedicated power supply like this that costs half as much as the DACs its powering. Maybe if it was a $30 or $40 unit then it could be in contention, but $100 is a lot. Maybe if someone gifted it to me it would be cool? But on the other hand I can buy 5 nice vinyl records for the same money, and I'll get a lot more enjoyment out of those than having a big power box sitting behind my table. I'm sure others have their own versions of trade offs that would be better than buying this.

I'm not sure if this point can be valid for everyone but I see this power supply to be very useful and convenient. You can plug not only a DAC like a D50s, but I also a headphone amplifier such a JDS Atom and even a Chromecast Audio for example in case you have one. This way you can make your rig much tidier and compact.

The package is marked as shipped on 21st and today is 26th. USPS is still waiting on the package. What is going on?

YavorMoskovWith USPS it shows as "shipped" when they print the label. I've seen that notification up to 7 days prior to actually being received by USPS. Usually means they received a large single shipment and are having to break it down/re-package to send to individual users. Reaching out to support under your profile>transactions>find this drop>Contact Support will be the best option to confirm.

"A well-designed switching power supply can be much quieter than a linear supply". True. This is because SNR is an objective (quantifiable) measurement. However, our listening enjoyment is subjective (non-quantifiable). Humans do find some harmonics and nonlinearity to be pleasant. We're just weird that way. Please don't judge us :)
Many high-end audio component manufacturers equip their products with an oversized toroidal transformer, despite knowing that a well-designed SMPS transformer measures better in terms of SNR. Why? Because they are convinced that their products sound better with a LPS. It is a subjective opinion, not a measurement.
Now, I'm not advising you to buy a Topping P50. It's barely powerful enough to charge a smartphone, though you're a true badass if you use a Topping P50 as your iphone charger! ArjestinYou're spot-on regarding objective vs subjective measurements. I know that a Porsche performs better than a Cadillac, but I'd rather have the Cadillac due to its superior comfort and luxury feel. Just like I'd rather have an R2R DAC rather than a top performing ESS based one. But I really don't see the point of having an external linear power supply if the device it drives filters the input power. For example, I will gain no audible benefit from changing the PSU of my RME ADI-2 DAC, because the unit is power agnostic by design. Where LPS and huge toroidal transformers do make the sound pleasant for us humans :) is inside power amplifiers. Unless you intend to fix an existing defect with Topping equipment, this P50 is a waste of your money.

PurpleArmyIf it takes 220-240V in, you're fine. But you don't even need an adaptor, you just use a standard kettle plug.
Personally I wouldn't bother with an LPS for something like a Topping DAC though. The whole point of Topping is that it's cheap and okay. Blowing an extra $100 for marginal if any gains just defeats the point. If you want better performance, just buy something higher tier instead.
And if I did want an LPS, I would just look locally for a secondhand bench power supply which would be much more flexible than something with a fixed 15V output like this P50. Can't think off the top of my head of anything else that uses 15V in.

PureSound168The Qutest dac has an input requirement of 5 volts at 2 amps, so this power supply would not be suitable.

RedwingsOn the Qutest thread on Headfi, Rob Watts has directly responded to this exact question (not easy to find due to the number of replies).
He said that you can power the Qutest with a 5V 1A supply just fine.

Just a little heads up on my experience with the P50. Ordered it through amazon.ca because it was slightly cheaper. Worked very well for the first 10 days. I noticed the sound from my D50 was slightly clearer with a widened soundstage. I was happy.
10 days later, it would no longer power on. Communication with the seller (or Topping) takes a long time due to the time difference. Hard to even finish a conversation in one night since they take couple of hours to respond. By that time its 1am here.
They told me to check the fuses in the back. One was burnt out. I put the spare in and it powered on, for about 5 seconds. Then power went back off, and I checked and that fuse was burnt out as well. And yes, the unit was on 115V mode, came like that and I never touched it.
I asked for a replacement unit because I like the product and wanted to continue using it. At first they told me to ship it to someplace in Ontario Canada. I asked them to pay the shipping since this is a brand new unit. Then they said they will pay the shipping but I have to send it to China. Shipping costs are around $100-$150CAD (the unit is heavy). To which, they said they will "think about it" and get back to me. They said they would not send a replacement, but give me a refund, and that I could re-order it if I wanted.
I am sure that drop.com probably has better return policy, but just wanted to give you a heads up of my experience with the P50, which is now a heavy paperweight. Still awaiting Topping's reply. Hopefully amazon.ca can get involved if it looks like nothing is happening on the return front.

MikeypasSame thing here. Stopped being able to power my devices after 3 days. I really liked how it made my dac sound too.
