From mud and rocks to snow and water, there’s virtually no terrain the fast-charging Traxxas Summit can’t handle. And thanks to a 10-LED lighting system, time of day is no hurdle either Read More
I was actually considering it until I saw it was pre-built. Half the fun is kits. Hopefully we get some actual kits now that there is a RC Cars community.
O07noon70Oyou can still but kits, atr (almost ready to run) and rtr (ready to run)
First you need to know what you want like buggy, truggy, truck, 4x4 monster or crawler, on road etc.
Then all good brands like hpi, traxxas, rc10, losi, etc are made to expand as you progress... say you want a truggy like traxxas rustler you can pick electric or nitro and later you can upgrade it from rustler to rustler sport to next model then tops at jato... do it right and save money since I took my sport and made a aftermarket hopped up jato for 100 cheaper... tons of cheap used but good parts on ebay.,
I been watching this for motors and maybe a kit... and some good deal on lipo stuff but I run mostly nitro... fuel and go..
Yeah I second that, customer service is still excellent. Not sure what experiences you've had, but I've received a faulty product and returning /getting a replacement was really simple...
This looks nothing like I remember the summit used to look. Also, this is a pretty good deal. Those of you that say otherwise clearly aren't in the hobby.
tyler555your not in the hobby since they never put out a summit nitro.... its a modded e revo with a jeep body for summit racing.....
now the revo, rustler, tmaxx had nitro versions and they rock and I owned all
I used to had this exact truck, something like 4 years ago, I had fun, but i got bored of it after 6-12 months.
Main thing is, like a guy above said, jack of all trades, master of none. It sure can climb, but nowhere near how dedicated crawler can. It tips of quite easily when on slope, and ground clearance isnt something to brag about either. It can race, but nowhere near how proper buggy can. It can barely jump... and thats what i missed the most. Speed and jumping capabilities.
So yeah if you want jack of all trades, then this is the one for you. Im surprised they still go for that much money.
There's like a thousand polls that are active right now with different things but THIS is the shit that becomes a drop? This new re-branding thing that's going on is depressing.
There are WAY more affordable trucks out there. I paid about $150 for one and got a really nice, fast racer that is a ton of fun for my friends and I. I'd bet it would out-race this one.
Not to put down this truck - it's actually a really nice truck with top-of-the-line everything and all the bells and whistles - but I think Massdrop should put some more affordable trucks up.
Additionally, it's great to see some other stuff up here than keyboards and ink and audiophile gear. (I love all of those things, hell I spent $300+ on a TEX Yoda here a while back, but some diversity please.)
