Tripowin is an industry favorite for high-quality cables, and the GranVia is a textbook example that will bring your best over-ear headphones to the next level. The wiring itself is made of high-purity, oxygen-free copper with a Litz structure, and consists of 36 strands woven into four cores Read More
If I hadn't just invested in Hart Audio Cables, I would have given these ones a go. They are a bit on the thick side, but that should help with durability. I certainly appreciate the reasonable pricing.
Just to follow-up regarding Hart Audio's returns: Within 15 days of delivery, I can confirm that they accept returns of items with no signs of wear because I received a full refund, less the original shipping charge.
I decided to return the cables due to the fact that their SE headphone cables are incompatible with their balanced interconnects, although they use the same connector. The item pages were not clear about this. I brought this to their attention, but they still haven't made any changes... nor did they apologize.
"Lack of transparency definitely makes me look elsewhere." I concur.
26 AWG, so basically this cable has anything else but copper wire in it, LOL.
For example Mogami regular mic cable is 22 AWG.
Microphone signal is so insignificant comparing to headphones and still Mogami are using more copper.
PyceLet's bring some sanity to this discussion. One, determining headphone cable gauge is always a matter of the length of the cable (the longer, the more resistance), and the impedance curve of your headphone. Those are the two factors to consider when choosing wire gauge. Two, many headphone and aftermarket cable makers use 26-gauge without complaint. So, while beefier 22-24-gauge may feel or look better, 26-gauge is not necessarily the mark of crappy cable.
No warranty.
Be advised that if this cable fails in some way outside of the MassDrop 30 day return guarantee, there will be no after sale warranty by the manufacturer. I purchased two of these; one for a T1 and one for the HD800s. One of the dual 3.5mm connectors for the T1 has a connection problem from the day I unpacked it that I was able to solve by wrapping electrical tape arownd it to force contact. I simply accepted this as a nuisance that I'd live with as trying to go through a retun process would be too much trouble. Now, while disconnecting the HD800 connector, the cable itself pulled out of the connector. Drop coustomer service was not able to help with information for returning to Tripowin for repair. I would have paid them to resolder. That is not possible now so I have ended up with a $60.00 useless cable six months after purchase. I seldom have problems with purcahes anywhere. This one has been an abysmal experience. The cables look nice but there are quality control problems here. I cannot in good consience recommend purchase of these cables due to the risk of failure because of lack of quality control and no after purchase customer service available. This was a costly lesson in my case. I want to be clear that most of my experience with Drop has been positive. This has been an exception. There are after market options in this price range of better quality. Peri**t is one I recommend. When purchasing directly from a dealer or manufacturer; if you have a problem, you can get assistance. Going through a middleman is not ideal. Drop's recommendation for finding a solution to this problem was to go into this forum and start a thread. Lol! God one Drop! I can truly say that without your help I wouldn't of had been able to figure this one out on my own. At least I got some comedy out of this purchase.
MdravoxI missed that shipping date before joining the drop, thanks for posting this. Went to the Linsoul site and was able to get the same cable for $31.20 after spinning their discount wheel. Free shipping, which I'm sure will take a while, but probably just as long as waiting until the end of May.
Hi all, as a heads up there was an error on the original listing. It was confirmed the longer cable length is 2m instead of the originally listed 3m. All customers who purchased the original 3m cable have been notified. Our apologies!
