So if there are two types of wire why are three three colors of wire - silver plate - copper and the 'gold' plating - no mention is made of what that material is... pyrite?

Are these compatible with the MASSDROP X NUFORCE EDC IN-EAR MONITORS? Just looking at the specs, it appears it does.

Yeah nah, I get it. To quote myself "Saw the pictures of the default Nuforce cable. Probably best for you to go for recessed 2 pin connectors" :)

phoenixsongYes. One thing I forgot to mention is that the cable that came with the EDC/EDC3 has kind of a screw on hood as well. I’m sure that is not the correct name but when I put a cable on without this cover thing, it kind of looked odd. I’ve read some say it doesn’t bother them. Just something to consider unless you know of a way to overcome this issue.

Aliexpress has comparable, cheaper cables with free delivery, not to mention the fast approaching 11/11 sale. Without in depth specifications and certifications or an outstanding warranty to set itself apart from the competition, I absolutely cannot see a reason to get these cables

Hmm, from my search TRN cables seem to be the most value for $. However, some of them do not have balanced termination options. Not a worry though- at this price there are tonnes of other appealing choices available
