This IEM is not a IEM ro my taste. I am not very happy with the fit. It does not sit comfortably in my ears.
The sound is OK, but there are IEMs that is better value for the money.
I have had my TRN 80s for over a year now. I am not a particularly picky audio consumer, but I do look for things that can give me a good value for my money. When I received them I was disappointed by the rather bland sound, the most remarkable aspect being intense and fatiguing treble when run through a PCM2704 based DAC. This was not as notable when not using a DAC or amp and did decrease to some degree with use and EQ adjustment. I tried every ear tip that I had and purchased some others and outside of varying levels of comfort, did not hear a difference. Other than that, I did not hear any notable detail or soundstage aspects. These seem, from a sound perspective, to be completely typical and not worth the $35 plus shipping I paid when there are other low cost "bang for your buck" options.
The quality overall was bad. I ordered the blue IEMs and they are definitely not the glossy multi-tone color pictured for the drop. Instead it looks like a flat blue with some glitter mixed in. This is not a huge deal for me, but I find it worth noting that Drop's pictures are completely deceptive if you care about the look. The left IEM developed a short within a few months of regular use at a desk in an office, and the cheap paint started flaking off at the seams where the shells are glued together, revealing cheap white plastic beneath. The twisted cord makes these tangle all the time.
About the best I can say for these is that the ear hooks are secure and they are good at blocking out other noise. I regret that I went for this drop instead of the other good values available at the time.
Very nice IEM's. Excellent frequency response, clarity and volume. I use in church on stage with a wireless monitor running off of my Aviom. Perfect set up!!
