When I first when I pluggen these in my first reaction was "Wow, the bass is amazing" but as the vocals kicked in, I felt like I shouldn't have bought these. It didn't take me long to look up Tin T2 and stash these away.
But a few days ago the crappy T2 wire gave in as such I had to bring them out again since I didn't have any spare wire around.
And yet again "Ouch" the sibilance was really killing me. But I did have those foams lying around this time
Comply 500 - Didn't help much. They are quite transparent which doesn't help here
Fiio hs17 - Perfect, got rid of sibilance, sound, mids are a bit too forward. Similar to t2 with too much of a bass boost say.
Soundstage got a bit wierd vocals are right up front and all the instruments sound like they are right behind me.
Though can live with it until this pandemic eases.
The difference with the comply 500 large foam tips is amazing. I heartily suggest them, they really even out the sound and increase the isolation. These are now the best I've heard.
for anyone having trouble with harsh treble or sibilance, definitely try out different tips. could just be resonance with my ear canal specifically but the stock tips are extremely harsh but with foam or wider bore silicone tips these v80s are fantastic. stock tips are ~4mm bore, using ~5-5.5mm bore silicone helped alot, using ~5-5.5mm foam tips helped a bit more
Just picked these up! I'm no expert nor do I consider myself an audiophile by any sense but I am impressed. They are a bit too loud on the top end so I'm hoping they will chill out a bit after a good burn-in period.
Thanks! Me too, I'm thinking about the isolation ones, I've tried the comfort plus and even tho they really are comfortable, they last a little bit less and are harder to fit in, also, the isolation ones are cheaper (by like 4 bucks tho)
Has anyone in North America received these from the drop ending Jan 8 2019? Looking forward to it, but getting antsy since the tracking keeps coming up not found....
