Rowdy2026Because,, it adds layers to the experience. This mod to their nuggets is perfect.
I tried these Klipsch HP’s quickly at the 46 place in NYC, not too impressed, but... it was between Clears & HD800s,, so fair?
Rowdy2026Link is there, form, fit & function. There is more to the experience than just the sound. Look at the collaboration between Audeze and BMW creating the EL-8. It looks good, pick it up and it feels that it was meant to be @ergonomic, and the sound,, I like it. This will be part of a more focused, best of breed buying, in a problematic purchase/exchange/repair market. I think we will see some customized colors in ear pads too. This nugget mod is a perfect case example of what the market wants; a cohesive Integrated modular design, the ‘package’ is all there now.
You have the Elex with the drop stack, put in a nice cable, customized pads and fix the qc issue with the wire, example. Then drop adds back in the r-2r dac, a Senn baby Orpheus w/stacking driver and a nice LPS etc... then as soon as that color matching electrochromic paint becomes available, set... for a while...
rastusYou lost me @ a similarly comfortable replacement headphone padding “...adds layers to the experience”
I guess you are the exact consumer they are marketing a $50 piece of replacement foam to though. 🤷♂️
axestrataA failed attempt at humor...
The point is that folks want a level of ‘integrated’ personalization, that is not addressed, in these HP rigs.
What this person did, is what companies pay design firms for, a lot.
