The U-Turn Basic Turntable is a great way to get the most out of your vinyl. Armed with a low-resonance MDF platter and pre-installed Audio-Technica AT91B cartridge, this turntable offers high-end fidelity accompanied by a not-so-high-end price tag. Each turntable is built by hand and extensively tested at U-Turn’s workshop in Boston, MA. In addition to the table, members who join the drop will receive U-Turn’s silicone-damped, stainless steel Orbit Cue (normally $40) to help you raise and lower the stylus with ease and precision. This is the only time U-Turn Audio plans on offering this exciting drop, so it's now or never.
Note: At checkout, choose between the White and Black models of the turntable. You also have the option to upgrade the basic MDF platter to an acrylic platter at a 20% discount ($60).
The Orbit is a manual belt driven, all analog turntable with a low-voltage AC synchronous motor. A rubber suspension decouples the motor from the base to prevent unwanted vibrations that can adversely affect sound quality. A CNC machined pulley rotates the exposed belt drive at both 33 1/3 and 45 RPM speed settings. Along with an inverted main bearing and vibration dampening feet, the Orbit’s high-end design helps keep your records spinning evenly to reduce any unwanted pitch variation (wow and flutter) during playback. The Orbit also has an adjustable counterweight so you can upgrade your cartridge down the line.
The turntable features a low-mass unipivot tonearm and an adjustable stainless steel counterweight designed to work seamlessly with the included Audio-Technica cartridge. While some turntables can require multiple adjustments before use, the Orbit is very much plug-and-play when it arrives. The needle comes pre-installed and properly adjusted for weight distribution and tracking force. A dust cover, felt mat, and RCA cables come included. The U-Turn Orbit Basic Turntable is an excellent way to start out on a new analog adventure with your two channel or home theater system.
