AaronOngVery Doubtful.
To be more specific, both UE and Massdrop will have to reconsider how to run the drop to avoid the massive outrage and disappointment that's permeated this drop. Also, UE will have to consider the hit they've taken from us for the crazy delays we've taken on their image, so they'd be insane to consider us without some thought.
wild_oneI think there's a silent majority of participants who are neither disappointed nor outraged by the timeframe. People who understand that shit happens and that part of Massdrop is trading speed for price.
NicholasDanielIf you were given a timeframe by which to base your decision on, and they completely fell through on it, you'd say "Oh, shit happens, doesn't affect me, I'll let this fly"? This drop was only given an open-ended ship-date, and for each batch it was given a more specific timeframe as we proceeded. It's one thing if we were kept in the loop as this drop progressed, but Danny got mugged, and his first update when he got back from CES was basically an advert of his bounty from the convention, rather than an update about the UERM.
I've been in other high-value drops, and I can't really recall any issue that we all weren't advised of in a timely manner, so this drop has been highly unusual, not to mention how UE simply didn't notify Massdrop until after the drop ended about the shutdown made things even worse. If you believe that's excusable, props to you, but this delay from expected has affected my plans, as well as walt_mink's.
NicholasDanielYour response implies that people who are speaking out against the deficient responsiveness from Massdrop and UE don't understand that unexpected delays happen and that Massdrop's business model only works because they can cut costs by ordering in bulk and using slower shipping methods costs.
How about this simpler reason? People are speaking out because Massdrop has handled this drop incredibly poorly.
